From: "Michael T Payne" Date: Wed, 20 Jan 1999 15:32:27 -0600 Subject: [ILF] EXCHANGE DROPS A LITTLE, huh? The GBP/USD conversion dropped USD 0.02 from yesterday's close: GBP- British Pond Sterling ? USD- United States Dollar $ TODAYS CURRENT (BUYING) GBP RATES PER USD IS: GBP 1.000 = USD 1.777 So if you buy GBP 500.00 today at this rate it will cost you USD 885.00...if the exchange rate goes up USD 0.01, the new rate for GBP 500.00 would be USD 890.00, a difference of USD 5.00, If it goes up USD 0.02 (like when bought on Sunday) the new rate would be USD 895.00 a difference of USD 10.00. Also, I can't stress enough that there is a service charge on top of your bloated purchase of USD 5.00 to 15.00. So the above purchase would cost you at todays rate, plus the average service charge would be USD 895.00 for GBP 500.00. Figures provided by Thomas Cooke 1-800-CURRENCY Mikey
