From: "Adam Hankinson" Date: Tue, 19 Jan 1999 19:42:56 -0000 Subject: [ILF] trains update Ok, Had lots of mail today concerning this and it looks like we may be taking over a train now! "the funky train" I am dealing with Leicester to london first (this is a minefield) Trains depart Leicester just about every half hour. they start at 5.30 am (Now we are being silly) At around 9am they go every 15 mins for an hour or so. Tickets are 39 pounds and will allow up to 4 ppl on that ticket. These have to be booked 3 days in advanced and are subject to availability. So the earlier I get numbers the best chance we have of getting the right train time etc. >>I wonder how much they are if we don't do this. It might be worth paying a few extra pounds just to have the flexibility of not being tied to a particular schedule.<< I phoned them and found out :for you Dan.... It will cost you 26.50 to buy at the counter on the day. (again subject to availabilty) Win, we can arrange for us to be back in London for Lunchtime. "London Baby" I guess the next step is for you all to say "yah" or "nay" to the idea and I can get an idea of how many want to ride the funky train. Oh, this ticket is in fact a return ticket. They don't do the 4 ticket thing on singles but it is still cheaper than buying a single (26.50) But the very helpful lady on the phone said that she would book a dummy return in order for us to get the cheap block booking thingie....Am i making sense? My head hurts. :-) OK, the floors open.....let me know chaps Adz (off to look at the Wolves trip now)
