That probably means "Recorded Delivery" which means they won't deliver without somebody signing for it. If you're not at home they drop a card in your mailbox telling you to go to the depot to pick the stuff up. That's how it works here in the UK anyway. As for how long; I sent Mikey42 a parcel by Recorded Delivery and I think he got after two or three days. The other UK "Tracked" delivery is "Registered Post" which is basically the same but the postal carriers give an insurance backed service so if they lose it you can claim the Crown Jewels in recompense. With Recodred Delivery they just say "Oops, sorry".
