From: Michael Thomas Payne Date: Tue, 21 Nov 2000 17:00:40 -0600 Subject: [ILF] Lyndon J. Connah Friends, Everybody on this digest knows that Mark King is a perfectionist when it comes to his music, his presentation on stage, and his musical arrangements, right? Does everybody agree with that so far? If Mark felt that Lyndon wasn't quite up to the challenge on stage would he ask Lyndon to come back again this tour? You can bet that Mark would have pre programmed the keyboard parts and have no keyboard player at all if he felt that nobody could do it, or asked someone else to play for him that maybe Mark felt played better than Lyndon....well that hasn't happened has it. Give Mark King some credit as choosing Lyndon to play keys, he must have some honest faith in his abilities, give the guy some slack, he has arranged different solo's almost every night and played different arrangements every night. The point also being made that Mark is always looking at Lyndon during the gis for approval is absolutely RUBBISH!!! Mark looks at Lyndon and vice vers, they are playing to one another as band members do during live gigs, listening to each other, not for critique, but enjoying the moment. NO, he isn't Mike Lindup, he is Lyndon J. Connah and he can olny play the way Lyndon J. Connah plays, which is his style, his interpretation, and his right by Mark to play the keys how he sees and hears fit to do so, give the guy a break won't you, he really is a nice fella and a hellva keyboard player, why don't you try to take an honest listen again and try to hear/see it in that sense. IMHO! Mikey PS: Everybody have a GREAT time at the IOW gig, hope to see you all on the video, get that banner or credit line set for us all to see!!!!!!!!
