Mike's solo album will see light of day, but right now he's really concentrating on Da Lata and his songs album. The whole Da Lata thing has turned out really well, the PPF comes no where close to be honest. Da Lata are awesome, on Sunday, they had the crowd up on their feet, dancing and interacting with the band from beginning to end. They are great musicians, real experienced musos, seem to work really well as a team and Mike fits in perfectly. The line up included a chellist(?), a saxophonist and a really cool percussionist. Mike's singing was impeccable and went so well with Lianna's voice. I had to pinch myself it was so good. The best thing is that they have a good following and seem to be in the hands of a very good record company - so the whole set up seems to be very professional and to be honest, equal in caliber to many L42 performances. Firstly, CONGRATS IAN BUCK, I am still jumping up and down!!!!! :) Well, let me say that I enjoy staying in Camden, very easy to get around and close to the gigs where I do not have to worry about catching the trains, so I can stay after the gigs and visit and eat with other levelheads! When I am in London normally when a gig isn't in Camden, I stay @ Kensington/Earls Court area, which is okay, but I prefer staying in North London. Ealing is OKAY, but still a long train ride into the city centre. Camden just has a vibe to it, and really enjoy all the shops, markets, and cafe's on the high street in Camden and Chalk Farm. I think that people posted to this one, but Mark used a fretless for Seven Years (GUARANTEED) for sure, Lasso The Moon and My Father's Shoes I am unsure! I do remember Mark giving an GWR Interview in 1991, saying that this was the first time that he had played a fretless in the studio and that he quite like the freedom that a fretless gave him, I didn't understand what that meant, but for fact sake there you go! I am a big PET SHOP BOYS fan, so whoever it was that asked I am one! I know I just admitted to this on the L42 digest, what was I thinking? Brian, I am still trying to find (locally) that CH Rare Disc, still having no luck. Dammit Jim! Does anybody know if Da Lata is recording any of these gigs, has anybody asked Mike? Is Mike's solo stuff EVER going to see the light of day? Well, it seems that the hard core fans, like myself, will be making what seems to be the annual pilgrimage to Camden for the MK gigs, should we do shirts for this one, since we've got the time? How many people are (from the USA/Canada except Quebec "JK") are going over? BTW, that Hamburg gig is AWESOME, I have a copy thanks to another digester and thge sound is just INCREDIBLE, espc Bitter Moon and World Machine, I also like the Mr Pink riff in RITF. Well that's all for now, I wish I didn't have a firewall so I could chat LIVE instead of teh ILF/Digest, but oh-well, just thankful that I have the Internet/Email at work! :) Best and Kind Regards, Mikey ------------------------------------------------------------ TEXAS ROUND-UP 6 LEVEL42 FEST Dallas/Ft.
