ATM cards are a GOOD way to avoid some of the SC's and get an actual
exchange rate, just make sure it is with a carrie like Cirrus, Plus, you
know the bigger affliates, Visa Check Cards too.

Travellers cheques in GBP are OK, but I have had on occasion where they
would not accept them or add an extra charge to my purchase.
