Connect the turntable to a receiver or amplifier, and connect your soundcard as if it were a tapedeck (makes sense, it can record & playback too), so output of soundcard to "playback" and the input of the soundcard to "record" of the amp. Just kid your amp you are recording to the tape deck (so set it accordingly) and presto ! Be sure to adjust the recording level correctly using the volume sliders, since recording is easily distorted by too high recording levels (just like, again, a tape deck). I've recorded many records like this. It is true that most soundcards' a/d converters suck big time, so if you want good results, buy a good soundcard. I have an Ensoniq soundcard and A/D conversion is not what it should be (too sharp - digital sound). I am looking for a really high end card. Any suggestions anyone ?? Groetjes, Andre
