Hi Gang
interesting to see the comments about the song Ship. some people like it some people HATE it. I did'nt like the Retroglide album and thought ship was the worst song on it.
but on a brighter note the new Phil Gould Album is going to be Brilliant.
Phil has a new song on his Myspace site. Looks like a mid October release.
now thats something to look forward too.

An Impeccable Groove
Cheers From Sydney

A few minor things to report on:

All this discussion of Manhattan Transfer. I haven't really kept up to date with them, but I did have a record (yes a record) that had boy from New York City, Nightengale Sang in berkley Square among others. I did download Nightengale recently because it is such a wonderful take on that song.

Without making any judgement on either side of the issue I have one thing to say about the recent hijinks (which have been sorely missed). A) When you read something in print, does it have the possiblility to physically offend you? B) Is this Digest really (I mean REALLY) the one online forum out there that holds the future development of the youth of America (and the world!!!) in sway? C) Is there a possiblility that some of us just like to argue?

I think the pertinent thing is that the world will not end if someone says somethng controversial or even offensive on this particular forum.

Doug, don't work to hard, they might say "Hey you can do more."

My 2000-2010 Decade of seeing 80s bands I didn't see in the 80s continues next week as I go to see the Go Gos which I hear is an amazing show. If I get to see the Cure next year then I will have seen more 80s bands in this decade than I saw in the 80s.

Enough about me, how is everyone?

I'm sure David Loundy will come up with ten laws I'm
breaking typing this, but anyway...

If anybody wants an mp3 of the track Mike Lindup
recorded with Kipper (As Doors Close), drop me a line.
It was recorded for a demonstration CD that Bang &
Olufsen use in store and as far as I can ascertain is
not available for sale in any format - if anyone knows
different please let me know, because I don't want to
be distributing something which is commercially
available. On Kipper's site it says "available on
iTunes soon" but it's said that for months now and as
of today it still isn't. Obviously if that situation
changes, anyone I send it to will be morally and
legally obliged to purchase it!

Alternatively you could do what I did and ask your
local friendly Bang & Olufsen store manager to give
you a copy. That way you'll get to enjoy the much
better* track with Jason Rebello.

This offer is open to all and sundry, including
everybody I have ever offended, berated, bored or
simply ignored. At the end of the day, I love you all
like my own brother.**

* I estimate that approximately 98% of Digest members
will disagree with this appraisal.

** I don't have a brother.
