Rob, thanks for posting that link. What great memories that brings to mind. Level 42 opening for Madonna in '87 was the first time I'd ever seen them in concert (Dallas, TX at Texas Stadium). I was one of the few people who were there to see Level 42 primarily and not Madonna. I remember being so frustrated that people were walking around and generally ignoring them as they played on stage, as typically happens to opening acts. I saw them again, only a couple months later, playing in a smaller, outdoor venue (Dallas's West End) and couldn't believe I could be 20 feet from the stage seeing my favorite band.
