| G'day Digestives! Fred S: I agree, I've always loved the simplicity of the Love Games lyric. And Children Say is another fave. And I love singing along to Talking In Your Sleep. Steve W: Nice list mate but I can't help feeling a little scared of that Soundrack of our Lives mob. I always much preferred What's The Story to Definitely. And I also much prefer Weller's debut to his way more critically acclaimed second CD ... I've often wondered if that has anything to do with living in Oz and not being as close to the UK music scene. Whaddya reckon? Trav B: Relax. Type slower, mate. Matt R: See, even more artists I never heard of! I keep seeing Nightfly mentioned - will have to suss it out. Jeff M: always like your recommendations - you opened me up to Gil. Jack pinched my Kyoto Jazz Massive CD! Diane A: Yeah, how good is that Maroon 5 CD! Did I mention the Genesis album 'And Then There Were Three'? One of my all-time faves, along with 'Making Movies' by Dire Straits. My son Jack is right into Dave Matthews - I've been enjoying a bit of his gear lately. Anyone else a fan of his? (Dave Matthews, not Jack!) Anyone got a favourite 'half-arsed CD'? That's where only half the tracks are any good. I'll give you a couple of examples off the top of my head: U2's The Joshua Tree and John Mayer's Room For Squares (where strangely the first 7 tracks are great, while the second 7 range from ordinary to pants). Remember I said I was given Paul Weller's 'Under The Influence' CD (love it)? Who'd like to have a go at compiling 15 tracks that they think Mark would pick for a similar CD - music that influenced him in his career? Maybe you'd start with Herbie Hancock and Mahavishnu Orchestra. I have a recent article from an IoW paper where he shows off his fave records but I can't bloody find it! Anyway, that's it, there is no more. Cheers ~ Mike (Sydney City Milkman) ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss an email again! Yahoo!
