Oh my....what a terrific CD.

I have always been a closet big band person....Toshiko Akiyoshi
anyone?...so this was right up my alley. I didn't know what to
expect, but my gosh, this just knocks me socks off. Just
imagine....Randy Brecker soloing on trumpet, Toots Thielemanns
blowing his fanny off on the harmonica (swoon), Hiram Bullock AND
Victor Wooten soloing in the same song (Beaver Patrol) on Guitar and
Bass.....Beaver Patrol kicks some major bootay in my humble opinion.
Also another favorite of my Mike Stern solos on several songs. Jimmy
Haslip has a solo too....gosh I could just go on, this CD is just awesome.

The music is stupendous, you can tell they've put a lot of care into
the production and the music is top notch. Lolita if you've heard
both CDs and you think that the Word of Mouth CD is better....oh
my....I am in for a treat.

Sorry for the off topic post/question, but have you ever heard "Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band"?  Unless my definition of "big band" is different from yours I think it would fall into the same category.  I enjoy it.
