| 1. Sarcasm? From:Brian Flint <wolfbard @ hotmail.com> Date:Thu, 4 Oct 2007 16:06:40 +0000 Interesting question Craig. I wonder, how does one detect sarcasm in text. For instance, detect which of the following two sentences is sarcastic. 1. I really like R.E.M. There is nothing I would love more than to see R.E.M. in concert over and over again. 2. I really love Buffalo Wings. I would love nothing more than eat Buffalo Wings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 24/7. Doesn't it has everything to do with the context of the discussion? If we knew you had a disdain for either REM, or wings, then it would be clear. Having no prior reference, one can only conclude both of these statements are true. I therefore envision you at an REM show with a bucket of wings, playing air drums with drumsticks (of the chicken sort). Colin | ||
