Hi All

Whats all the Penny Lane excitement about. Mark did a cover of Tie a Yellow Ribbon in that "Star Studios" karioke studio in Bourbon Street, New Orleans. Think it's on the "Fait Accompli" video. Have a look for that.

I know the place as I did one of my own tracks there, but it will never see the light of day, let alone my space!! I look a right bruiser, not the gentle soul I really am

Hello,

Has anyone else received their Retroglide dvd yet?  Mine just came in the post Thursday, about a week after I ordered it.  The concert part of the dvd looks and sounds great.  But the audio is off on the Soundcheck feature.  I've tried on all three audio options and all are off.  Has anyone else experienced this with their copy?
I've got all the other recent live dvds and I must say this is the best one yet.  Just a personal observation: on the previous dvds I felt it was just Mark King performing with a backup band.  The band seemed a little stiff, or just not completely sure of themselves.  This is in no way a criticism, just an observation.  But on the Retroglide dvd everyone seems to be relaxed and enjoying themselves.  I also liked the addition of a percussionist.  I hope another L42 album comes out before too long.  They still sound (even the new stuff) better than a lot of the stuff that's out today.
One last question: what is it about the song, The Ape that everyone hates it so much?  It's not my favorite L42 song but what am I not seeing/hearing?

Thanks for reading,

Dave from the States

Hi All,

Been awhile since I've posted on this bad boy.  I am anxious to read some reviews of the DVD, especially about how the Retro songs translate live.  I like Retro, some pretty catchy tunes.  But I've always thought that L42 sounds so much better live.  I have played APP and Wembley hundreds of times more than the studio stuff.  With that said, I still like the new stuff.

Can I borrow 25k USD for a Mark King Signature Alembic.....sheesh

I'm flying across the pond to England in August and as luck would have it, L42 is playing at Arundel Castle.  finally..........FINALLY!   It's only taken me 22 years to see my favorite band!  Anyone have a set list from any of their shows from the last several months, would like to get an idea of what I'm in for.

Hello to all of you that I've had such great conversations with so many years ago!

Brian
