Doug, i've personally never found a dvd player that wouldnt play a VCD, assuming said VCD was authored correctly. I know the Dreams & Vision disk was authored correctly, so perhaps its the portable dvd player. Another option would be to open the disc on a computer, look for the files with a 'DAT' extension, and copy them to the hard drive. Change the extension to 'MPG', and try playing them as a test. They are just mpg video files after all. Some MAC folks here might suggest something to play VCD's on. Win
