That's not too long to wait then, is it? Patience is a virtue.

Apology accepted. Now, about those number plates...

Like when Daphne & Celeste, (of "Ooh, stick you, your mama too... and your
daddy!" fame, - don't pretend you don't know it!), played the main stage at
Galsto and got bottles of p!ss hurled at them. Priceless.

I'm not suggesting that Jez, Rod and the Fuzzy Trolls deserve the same
trreatment, merely drawing a comparison to the similarly ill-thought lineup
to a festival.

It also reminds me, (in a round about kind of way), of when Joss Stone was
presented with "Best Urban Act" at the Brit Awards a couple of years ago.
Joss Stone? Pretty little sugar coated white girl? From Devon? Best Urban
Act?

The Brits died for me that day...

I notice from
the three tour dates already announced (May 6 New
Orleans, May 12 Orlando, May 24 Darby Philadelphia)
that they are creeping slowly east - by 9 degrees
between the first two dates, and 6 degrees after that.
Also that the time between the dates is doubling. If
they continue to move east by 3 degrees less each trip
(which unfortunately will start them going west fairly
soon), and the time between them continues doubling...
I make it that they'll be reaching the Greenwich
Meridian round about 3 July 2060. I will be 92 years
old. Becker and Fagen will be 110 and 112
respectively. I wonder whether they'll play
'Godwhacker'?

Goodwhine, those calculations prove one thing: you've got _way_ too much
time on your hands!

3.  Live album from fall tour?

Having had the pleasure of traveling from the states
for the RAH concert in London, it made me wonder why
they didn't record a DVD of one of their shows this
fall. It's certainly the best I've heard the band in
many years and I think most L42 fans would be lining
up to buy a live album or DVD from one of the shows.
Anyone know if they did indeed record any of the shows
or if a live album with Lindup in the line-up (ha...it
rhymes!) is in the works?
Cheers.

Is it called that because there's almost no jazz at
the festival? Jerry Lee Lewis? Rod Stewart!? ZZ Top?!?

It will be great to see Steely Dan at the Jazz Fest.  As far as the other headliners go, they are just 10% of the music.  The other 90% of the music is New Orleans jazz and blues artists.  Names like Dr. John, the Nevilles, the Marsalis', Marcia Ball, the Meters, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Marva Wright and Irma Thomas to name just a few.  It's quite an awesome couple of weekends.  I would recommend it to everyone.  You haven't lived until you've cooked in 100 degree weather with 120% humidity, lots of alcohol and music.  Too bad some of the boys in L42 don't make it stateside often.  They would be an awesome addition.

Bob
