Doug - thank you for those kind words.  Yes, some of my experiences on the digest have been trying [the hate spewed both during that '04 period, and that guy back in '99 who directed borderline racist comments at me] but some of the best times of my life have also been with digesters.  Directly in front of me at my desk, in front of my window, is an enlarged picture of about 40 of us in front of Shep's Bush from January '99.  Some of you on here might remember that pic - many people had flown in from all over the world for that particular show, and about 70 digesters were there, screaming in the front rows.  Ah yes - The Funky Bus Tour.  One of the highlights of my life [except I have no desire to ever go to Wolves again - too depressing!].

I would love to hear your take on Word of Mouth Revisited, as it is one of my favorite CDs.  I love Havona, and especially Elegant People.  I had to good fortune of hearing the Jaco Pastorius Big Band right after that CD came out, with Victor Wooten as bassist.  Teen Town, Wiggle Waggle, Used to Be A Cha-Cha, Havona...Sublime...

I have to agree with your points on off topic content.  It made no sense to me ( I hope I'm not being a hypocrite here as I don't recall the Brian of the past too well).  I do know that if it were not for off topic content, I may not have discovered Jamiroquai.

Also, I think the first time I'd ever heard of Britney Spears as on here. That's not a good thing by the way.

I cross the pond on weds and when the chance presents itself, I will post off topic rabble.  Of course, I'll post a review of the concert as well.

Gang,

The last time I came back to the digest AG told me that Loz had sold his Level 42 collection off. I, of course, did not believe him and posted that I thought he'd made a bad attempt at humor. Just this very moment I am reading the Sept 11, '04 where LOZ announces that he's sold off all of his duplicates and all the singles and has kept just single examples on CD of each album except Trash. Words fail me....somehow it seems eerily appropriate given the date of the post, but that's as far as I want to go with that train of thought.

Wow, WOW words fail me (for once).

Reading along further presents some enlightenment, but still I am utterly shocked. AG please accept my apology for doubting your word.

Doug
