Seems like a moronic thing to get into a flame war over.  The opinions could span the entire history of the band.  Some may think they should have dropped the name after Phil and Boon left.  Others after Mike left.  In the end, he has a legal right to call it Level 42 so who cares. Of course this is all subject to opinion and those are the things that cause flame wars.

As for the musicians.....as a bassist/keyboardist/guitarist/drummer I can say every one of them in the current line up is better than me so I have no right to complain.

I was in a traffic jam on the M62 today, listening to Retroglide
(twice! bad traffic jam!) when I thought occurred to me - what's the
silliest Level 42 related thing I've done?

One thing sprung mind:

Standing outside the De Monfort Hall in Leicester with my wife, after
the gig, awaiting our heroes - sadly it was about -5 degrees and we
want 3 hours. My wife didn't talk to me for days (well there has to
be an upside!) and still won't go to Level 42 gigs with me.

Wondered if anyone else had Level 42 related silly stories?

Craig

Hey gang,

In a weird twist of whatever....I received an email from a friend
about the state of current world affairs and it devolved into a
discussion amongst friends and family via email that blew up into,
while pleasant and above board, comments about America's role in the
world, atrocities committed during WWII, use of the A Bomb on
Nagasaki and Hiroshima, fire bombing both Dresden and all the major
Japanese cities and most of all whether killing some people to save a
great many others is ethical or moral. And all that kinda fun stuff...

Today I find myself reading the mid March '03 digests and our
fearless moderator tossed in a well placed shot at the events going
on in the world, Don Z, Tom Terrific, AG (with his reprise of the UK
being the 51st state (gotta love that!)) and others all getting wound
up to replace the tiresome 'Level 42 is the group of guys' , 'No you
idiot, Level 42 is whoever MK says it is' BS that has/had been
lasting for months.

So, I wonder how much more fun we're going to having in the coming days.

As an aside to the Nerds/Video Gurus out there....my good friend
Winman was kind enough to supply me with vids, including Dreams and
Visions, and I recently bought a portable DVD player. I can't seem to
get The Montreux Jazz Festival VCD to play on it and the D&V VCD is
all fits and starts and is pretty unwatchable. Is this the case for
VCD 2.0 disks in general on DVD players? I tried them on my Power Mac
(a G3 running OS 9.2.2) and it wouldn't play at all and I was assured
by Don Z that I'd have that problem with such a decrepit (sigh)
system. Anybody got any suggestions on what I oughta do now? Besides
bashing my head against a wall, that is.

Thanks,

Doug
