"Personally, I think the first three tracks are awesome, and I think that the rest of the album will grow on me in the coming weeks! Funny is n't it! I think the first three tracks are very average with some better ones further on. Obviously it will grow on me, all Mark's stuff has but first impressions are rather disappointing. The overall feel of the album is "familiar" not really pushing forward and taking Level 42 to new levels. It feels like a compilation of tracks that have not made some previous albums, with the odd exception such as All around, Hell Town Story, Sleep Talking and Ship. That's my initial two cents worth Richard | ||

Hi All
Wow a new Level 42 album, who'd have thought
it.
Have to say it is an instant winner with me. They
have mixed the early jazz funk alongside great pop tunes and I can't see how it
wouldn't appeal to the whole spectrum of fans.
I can't wait to hear this stuff played live, the
groove and feel throughout is just great and this album is not a cash in issue
but a genuine new album.
The guys have not only managed to mix the early
feel with the latter but add nice musical twists and variations to keep each
track interesting.
I think with every listen you will hear new sounds,
instruments and effects, the depth of the tracks is a joy to listen
to.
Go and buy now if you haven't already, you will not
be disappointed, Guaranteed.
Ah no, I mentioned Guaranteed and isn't that banned
on here (smile!)
enjoy
cheers
Pete

Howdy,
I agree with Jim's comments in that the first three
tracks are great. The whole tracks sound quite different to the samples on
l42.com. The intro to "Rooted" is awesome I think.
The box and cd are quite cool too.

Sorry forgot to mention, the track snippets on the
website is a nice idea but it seriously does not do the album justice
somehow.
Not sure why that is, but I just wasn't expecting
the album to be so good after listening to those.
cheers
Pete
