In response to Mike's posting yesterday about Retroglide…. I agree with him that the album art and the short mp3 clips hint at a return to the early tapes type material.
Personally, I'm really looking forward to it.
Just the thought of brand new material at all is enough to be excited about.

| Mike, i read your post, and i guess some others might be feeling similar thoughts. My comment is this. Why would anyone think that Mark or this band would even desire to go back to the jazz funk days of when the band first started? Since the World Machine album, the band has given me no indication of wanting to return to this type of sound. Marcus was pretty much a funk/fusion player since his start. And i'm sure this style still works for others, but i have gotten the impression since the late 80's that Mark has moved on from that style. At least until he stretches out in concert. Now, having heard the album, there is some damn fine bass playing on it. Its my opinion that Mark has rediscovered the bass, because there are some actual bass solos on this thing! ;-) Win |
