I have two tickets for the LA Show on March 27. The show is being sponsored by ELS Surround (Elliot Scheiner / Panasonic DVD-A technology). There is some buzz about the show incorporating some kind of new audio technology -- Fagen being an early adopter of such cutting edge stuff and Elliot Scheiner being his long-time audio engineer / mix guy. Although I've only heard the new single "H Gang" from the solo album, I'm eagerly anticipating the show which should feature a good mix of Nightfly and Kamakiriad tracks along with some Steely Dan stuff. It looks like Keith Carlock (http://www.steelydan.com/2kband.html#carlock) will be back on tour with him, which is huge. Carlock is an outstanding drummer who absolutely floored the audience with his chops on the last tour. A lot of the other tour personnel will come from the EMG 2003 roster including Walt Weiskopf. *** I am now officially offering one of my primo $100 show tickets to AG. Now we need some of you digesters to chip in for his airfare and get his British ass over to LA. After all, I feel lame going to good shows like this alone and it really sucks to go to such a highly anticipated show with someone that doesn't really like the music. I need a hard core Fagen fan to enjoy the show with, and there really isn't any one harder-core for Donald Fagen than AG. Am I wrong about that? Maybe we can even have dinner with Laura/Allwyn before the show. -- Matt Rice rice @ geog.ucsb.edu http://www.geog.ucsb.edu/~rice |
