Don't like meeting people, don't drink alcohol, don't think Level 42 were the greatest band in the world ever. Three good reasons for a start. Furthermore always imagined such events would include amonst their attendees either a) people who would expect me to be the funniest person since, well, ever, and who would be disappointed to discover that the real me is less funny (in Winston's case EVEN less funny) than the Digest character or b) people like Keith Ashley who would want to hit me. Trash
As a few of you mentioned degradation of this CD I gave
mine a try and it seems fine. I do know I got mine quite late on, so I may have
had a different batch of CDs to you others.

>OK. With all this talk of CD rot and CD sticker shock, I
tried my Trash CD yesterday. The player will >not sync to it. I tried a
couple of players. All the same. Distorts, skips and is relatively
unrecognizable. My >copy of Trash is trashed. Could be just a
fluke.
>Anybody else? Thanks.
Trent, I'm the one guilty of bringing up the whole cd
label thingy, and it's also my copy of Trash that's trashed too. It's no
fluke i'm afraid. Surely there mus be others out there whose copies are
degraded too. People - check your Trash.
Reckon we could get a refund from Mark? After all,
it's the labels that have caused the discs to degrade, and i suspect it's only a
matter of time before the other discs bought from Mark (Live at The Jazz Cafe,
Live at Reading etc), start to degrade too.
steve
ps - I am, of course, joking about the refund
bit. I'm not as bitter as I sound, although it's a shame i've lost these
tracks. I can only hope that the new album doesn't go the same
way... Ascent Media Group Ltd, 1 Stephen Street, London W1T 1AL web: http://www.ascentmedia.co.uk The information contained in this e-mail is confidential and may be subject to legal privilege. Trent enters the Level 42 Twelve Step Program
Leader: Group, we have a new friend tonight. His name is Trent.
Trent: Hi everybody. I'm Trent.
Group: (in somber unison) Hi Trent.
Leader: Trent, would you please tell us about yourself and how you
came to be here. Don't hold back. We all have something in common here.
Trent: I'm 42 years old. Ironic huh? Husband of one, father of four.
It all began in 1985. I was at a pawn shop purchasing some poor soul's drum set.
It was an orange TAMA oversized kit with a 26 inch bass drum. I crammed it into
my car, turned the key and switched on the radio to hear SAY for the first
time. I was unable to drive. Motionless, I listened. The DJ
announced the artists as a "new" group named Level 42. I sped immediately
to the local Record Realm. I quickly found the US version of World Machine
and joyfully raced home to my awaiting turntable. It was love at first
listening. There I sat with my mouth agape and drool running down my
chin. Never before had I heard such an exquisite fusion of Funk/pop. I learned
that other releases were available as imports and within 2 weeks I had
5 LP's and a double live album as well. I have dedicated my life to
figuring out what Mark mouths at the end of the SAY video. I guess that
about does it.
Group: (dead silence)
Trent: Hey, I don't see myself as a Level 42 addict. I can quit
anytime I want. I just don't want to right now. | ||

| A few days ago, I wrote: "I'm hoping to make a trip to the UK around May or June. It'd be great to hook up with some UK Digestives." Judging by the e-silence, it looks like I may not be hooking up with anyone. That's a shame. I also wrote: "And where would be the best place to look at used Jaydees? The Bass Centre? Macari's? Anyone?" Again, from the lack of response, it seems no-one can offer suggestions. Bugger me, this Digest can be hard work ...
