| Ah, the speed at which questions get answered around here. Should I have prefaced this by asking if Mike Lindup is gay? That always seems to garner a response or two... --------- Forwarded message ---------- Hi all, I have a question about a couple of live recordings I have in my collection that I'm hoping someone can clarify for me. Way back when, a kind Digester (whose name I can't recall now) send me a cassette recording of the December 7th, 1990 gig at the Hammersmith Odeon that contains the following tracks: Side 1- Hot Water, Her Big Day, The Sun Goes Down, Overtime, Guaranteed, Set Me Up, If You Were Mine, The Spirit Is Free. Side 2- Children Say, Heaven In My Hands, It's Over, Man, Running In The Family, Lessons In Love, Something About You, The Chinese Way. As it turns out, the sound quality on side 1 is horrible (like I'm listening to the gig over a phone line) but side two is vastly better. Now, I also have a CD that another kind Digester (whose name I also can't recall now) made me which starts towards the end of 'Love Meeting Love', goes into 'Kansas City Milkman', then features the same material as Side 2 of the aforementioned cassette. I remember reading once in the old fan club magazine that the radio broadcast started in the middle of 'Love Meeting Love' because the new album hadn't been released yet and the radio couldn't broadcast the songs, and I noticed that all the tracks from Guaranteed were in the beginning of the set. So, does anyone know if there was a fan recording of the entire show that ended up getting spliced with the radio broadcast and circulated among collectors? That's the only thing I can think of that would account for the cassette I have. Of course with the FM broadcast being available, I can't imagine why anyone would then cut out 'Love Meeting Love' and 'Kansas City Milkman', but there you go. Later, Chris L. |
