I thought I'd pass some helpful info along to some US/Canada members who have region 1 DVD player and want a DVD player that plays all DVD's worldwide and do not want to spend a ton of money.

I bought a cheap DVD player, an APEX (CODY) DVD-224 player (US$29.99 - less a $20 rebate), it was Region 1 only when I bought it, I got a secret code, typed it on my remote, and BAM - I have a multi-region DVD player for less than US$9.99.    I know that this site has other DVD player secret codes, I used it two years ago for my Daewoo DVD player too!  Here is the link for the site and my DVD player.

Secret Codes for DVD players:  http://www.nerd-out.com (For most brands of DVD players)

Apex (Cody) DVD players:  http://www.ecoby.com/Products/Detail.asp?pid=DVD224 (The model I bought)

BTW - I got my DVD player at Music Wherehouse (that is how it is spelled), I know that they offer these player at Wal-Mart too, for cheap!  If I can help anybody find their codes for their DVD players let me know!
