Level 42 Digest for Friday, September 22, 2006

Hi All,

Well it’s now Thursday & I’m back from a spell away with work so I’ve finally got to listen to my copy of Retroglide.

And I’m loving it. I’m not going to go into a track by track review or analyse the individual performances, but suffice it to say that there’s a lot of variety & a lot of good listening on the album. I’m onto my third or fourth listen in the car now & the tracks that didn’t immediately grab me are nicely growing on me. And the “Super Jewel Box” is lovely too J

Time has moved on for the band and I’m quite happy to say that this album has been well worth the wait for me.

Roll on the October Tour.

Think it's going to take a few listens to grow on me. Some obvious stronger tracks already, but on the whole it's very much a MK album. I know time moves on, and music mustn't stand stil etc etc, but he had Mike in the studio and he's been poorly underused, especially in the vocal department. Not a fan of the whole layered vocals thus far, but that may change with a few more listens. Just For You is a favourite so far.
