| ...went to see the boys in Dublin last night (great gig) even the tracks from the new album sounded good (which has yet to grow on me). waited around for 10 minutes or so afterwards but then went for a pint. I had to head off to get the last tram home but the friend I went to the gig with had to walk back past the venue to get his cab. as he passed guess who came out? devastated to have missed him but my chum got MARK KING on the phone and I spoke to him for a minute or so. isn't life great!?! i think I even slept through the night with a smile on my face as it was still there when I woke up! got the set list from the stage also and to make it an even better night, Mike was on keyboards, I wasn't expecting that. I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer next time they are here, to chalk the meeting off my list of things to do. last night almost made up for the weekend I missed out on when you lot went to the Isle of Wight to meet him in Joe Daflo's. great night! right, time to dig out all the music again on my ipod for the day! the end | ||

| Hi All Took my time before airing my views on Retroglide. 2 Questions.. (1) Where is the "Groove" and (2) Where's Mike? This by any other name is NOT a Level 42 album. Sorry but I can hear "Influences" and "Trash" in there but little else that harks back to the glory days when the Groove was core to Level 42 output. Even Forever Now at leadt paid homage to the band in its original concept. Great title great packaging but as a Level 42 outing it left me flat. Had it been touted as a Mark King album, no problem. As a fan , I don't wan't to hear slide guitar in their tunes. I have been a long term fan and I agree bands evolve and change, that said and done, I have followed Steely Dan, UB40, Marcus Miller and several others who over a period of time have managed to release products which sit comfortably with their early releases. Retroglide however does not . Sad to say but not surprised that to date, it isn't registering much interest radio or chart wise. Regards Terry p.s. | >And have you seen the photo of the Capital Gold set list on Forevernow.com? >If they pull of something similar we’ll both be over the moon. Dive Into >The Sun, Rooted, Retroglide, Sleeptalking as well as a load of the >classics. Woo Hoo!!! I thought the setlist looked very "safe". They've pulled a couple of Mike-infused tracks out of the back catalogue, but there's nothing there we haven't heard before. Other than the Retroglide songs, obviously. _________________________________________________________________ The next generation of Search—say hello! http://imagine-windowslive.com/minisites/searchlaunch/?locale=en-us&FORM=WLMTAG |
