Hehehe well I’d like to say thanks to the people responsible at Level42.dk for the above video. I hastily downloaded it and to be honest had a right laugh at it. I’d forgotten just how bad most videos from the early 80s were, and especially the ones made for virtually unheard of bands with consequentially little money. So I can understand the dodgy ‘set’, the questionable quality and even the whole ropey concept of the ‘story’, but the lass in it ?? What a boiler !!!!! LMFAO. Surely they could’ve got someone who looked a little less like a has-been Russian street fighter LoL LoL.
So thanks again guys, if anyone has any other ‘old school’ videos let’s have them!! They are a treat!
For the record (CD ?) I think the Leaving Me Now video was the best they ever did. Thoughts?
Oh, and can we pack in all this unseemly squabbling and finger-pointing please. It’s doing my head in.
Thanks
Andrew

| I never really understood the Winston vs Mikey thing so could you do it all again for me? Kidding. Well said, Loli'a (last digest). Win, like Jennifer, I love you too. But not in a gay way. I'm in the UK between May 7 and June 16, which means no gigs for me. Big hairy bollocks. By the time you read (or ignore) this, I'll be complaining about the humidity in Kuala Lumpur... Cheers ~ Mike (Sydney City Milkman) P.S. Where's Loz? Can someone go round his house and check he's okay? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! | Well...... (Taking a deep breath) First of all I have to say that it's great to so many familiair faces again. After so many years we are only waiting for Adz and Dirkies and the family i complete again. Alas, I must say, that the reunion again started a personal vendetta (as looks like it). Rob and I are discussing this issue all over the day, as we don't like it. Through the years, lot's of copies were made and spread by fellow fans. Sometimes I didn't even have to pay for CD-R or shipping costs, while another time I had to pay for these. CD-R's (and DVD-R's and Videotapes) have become so cheap these day's, that we forget to remember a couple years ago only one CD-R costed 3 dollars. Plus the investment of an expensive burner (though they give them away now for free at a pack of washing powder, years ago they costed a couple of hundred of dollars)! There were people who misused the fact that not everyone had a burner at that time, but non of the three guys (Carl, Mikey nor Winston) were! We all know the prices of 20dollars for one (lousy edited) CD-R or DVD-R, asked by some guy in Weert and some Mrs in London. We all had our bad experiences and learned our lessons well. I think Carl, Winston, Mikey, Rob, I and all others involved share the same idea: That it is the best promotion for the band if people can listen to several recordings, other than the official one. But that it is not done to release this amount of files as downloads. We build a huge collection of stuff we're releasing and going to release, and lots of people were involved with the gathering (I won't name the same people again, but our thanks and love goes to all of them) of these Gems. Allmost like a family, we feel it this way. Great promotion to get the Level42community back on track again, as a new album and new gig's are awaiting. Therefor I think we have to continue the fact that the community becomes more tight now then it has ever been, as the most exiting moment is near (Man do I sound like a scientology-leader ;) ) Come on people, let the past rest, and look up to the future. And if it realy is hard to let go, mail eachothers privately, but don't drop teh feeling of this great digest. My 42 cents... Norman | ||

Ahhh A Few Good Men .. does the heart
good!
FWIW, in my few dealings with Winston I always
found him to be a stand-up guy. Sent me a few dvd's - I bought the blanks -
without charge for time, postage etc. etc.
Time to call off the 'Code Red'
folks!

Mikey, i'm gonna stop stating the obvious that i did NOT
critisize any webmaster, nor did i try to stifle them from sharing their content. All i did was suggest they might wanna rethink their way of going about it. You obviously cant see that, and have some other movtive for dragging me through the mud. Digest history shows we have done numerous projects that were distributed without money changing hands, and nobody connected to the band had a problem with it. Recently someone on the digest offered to SELL video interview footage of the band, and was promptly served with a nice letter asking them NOT to do it. You do the math. I was just trying to give the fine folks at Level42info.com a helpful hint, nothing more. Lets look at some of the other bullshit you have dreamed up: What is more interesting, is that you got a hold of Winston after you agreed to the sale - I am sure he said sure, stiff Mike, I'll do it for free!!!OK, so know you make shit up. Is this why you have a problem with me now, because you think i interfered with your plan to sell your precious videotaped footage? I surely didnt ask her to 'stiff' you, and i didnt advise her NOT to purchase your tapes. I did however advise her that all the footage was in PAL format, and even helped her look for a decent PAL vcr to play back the footage. If you need to know why she decided NOT to purchase your tapes, maybe you could actually ask her, instead of making up conspiracy theories. Leave that crap to Oliver Stone. But, since she paid you half your asking price, even though she didnt get any of the tapes, it sure sounds like you have nothing to whine about. He told you that he had my tapes for over SEVEN YEARS, made copies for all of his chums - except the person he was borrowing them from, when I asked for my collection back, after promise after promise of getting them on DVD, to which I got few copies that NEVER never worked Again with the lies...You 'loaned' me these videotapes when I lived in NYC, when i didnt even own a dvd recorder. It wasnt until i got a recorder, years later, that i offered to put them on dvd. I also recall sending you numerous dvd's. In fact, I sent you a copy of EVERY dvd made from your videotapes. Why you bother lying about it is beyond me. I honestly DONT recall these dvd's NOT working for you, but if they did not, why would this be the first time i'm hearing about it. I also recall sending numerous copies of these discs to Sean Green, so he could make copies for you, as he had a dvd recorder. Now, recordable dvd's are NOT guaranteed to work on everyones standalone dvd player, so if they didnt work for you, i find it hard to believe that I didnt suggest someway for this problem to be resolved, maybe this is why you had me send copies to Sean Green, so he could make different copies? I asked for them back to take care of it on my own. Thankfully I found someone who has been nice enough to do in a few weeks, what Winston could not do in SEVEN YEARS!Again, yet another lie...you asked for the tapes back ONCE, during the entire time they were in my possession. This was a few years back, when you got 'upset' with me, because i didnt call you back or some such silly shit. I called you about it, and advised i would be posting the tapes the next day. After speaking, and clearing the air, you said you didnt need them back, and in fact you didnt even have a working PAL capable vcr. The fact of the matter is this: In JUNE of 2005, i called you and advised you that i was relocating to Las Vegas, and i needed to send you the tapes. I did this in a few days, and you got the tapes. You did NOT ask for the tapes back, so please stop lying about it. A few weeks later, you posted on the webdigest that you were selling the tapes on EBAY, which is your perogative. I even suggested that you post an itemized listing of whats on the tapes, as that might help you sell them. Why are you lying about this? Hey, i'm glad you got someone to make nice dvd copies for ya, and i'm sorry it took so long for me to make discs, but it wasnt like i was paid for the effort, and i've had no complaints from folks who received the discs. They seem to have worked fine for everyone BUT you, unless of course that is yet another lie. Funny though Winston & Carl - years back when I initially shared bootlegs with you, where was this 'morality' then when you making massive copies for fans all over the globe? Yeah, I thought so - you both are hypocrites! What in the holy hell are you talking about? What morality are you speaking about? For the record neither Carl or myself has EVER made 'massive' copies of anything you have given us. Not one tape from the 'famous' Mikey Payne was every distributed by us to any massive audience. Sure we shared things with other fans, as they have with us, but only the 'digest projects' were given any real distribution beyond simple fan to fan trading. I dont recall you complaining about it then. In then end Mikey, we were once good friends I thought, but obviously i must have done something to upset you. Sorry that happened, whatever it was. If thats so, then you might be a man, and speak to me about it. I dont appreciate being lied about, and i dont appreciate you sending private emails to my friends, saying i've not been truthful in my dealings with other Level 42 fans. Those are just blatant lies, pure and simple. Win |
