Mate, last time I saw them was in Brighton on the RITF
tour, right before I migrated to Australia. Not much
chance of me seeing them now. Go see 'em, AG!

I had nightmares for weeks after witnessing that. At
one gig, may have been Worthing, he jumped on my hand
as he did that bloody monkey dabce thing of his.

When I was in the UK a few weeks ago I heard a new
track from a girl called Adelle (sp?), a beautiful
acoustic song that stopped me in my tracks. The Radio
One DJ kept saying it was a first play and remember
where you heard it first, all that sort of cobblers.
Ring any bells with anyone?

What were the most recent CDs I bought? (he asked
himself): A Treasury by Nick Drake - nice, songs from
his 3 albums; Jagged Little Pill Acoustic by Alanis -
I like it, even though I can't believe she re-recorded
a song called Ironic that contains absolutely no irony
whatsoever. Maybe that's the irony. Oh no, I've gone
cross-eyed. And Musicology by Prince - man that is one
funky shortarse. And I've rediscovered The Very Best
Of Crowded House. Mmmm...

Love ~ Mike (Sydney City Milkman)

Ah yes, I remember you now, welcome back to the fold! I was fortunate enough to be one of those partying at Joe DaFlo’s and in Portsmouth at the Raytheon. Hell of an amazing trip; oh don’t we all miss those days! Keep an eye out though, with the new album out soon, a lot of people are planning trips over for the gigs in October. Sadly I won’t likely be one of them as I’m meant to be in Shanghai right around the end of the tour, and I’m gutted. I’ve seen Mark and I’ve seen Mike, but I’ve not seen them together. Not that I didn’t think Lyndon was great, just that this is a huge step closer to the original band :)

Anyway, I’m sure there will be mention here closer to the day. There have also been some musings on the Web Digest about gatherings under the Levelfests section.

...And I can make a shameless plug of my own, the Web Digest is indeed alive and well and is about to go through a major upgrade. We went through a major speed improvement last year after moving the server from my home to a proper hosting company (netted about a 1000% improvement between clicks), and we’ve just purchased new forum software that will provide some great new features (not the least of which being RSS feeds) and will absolutely give us another huge boost in speed as well.

I beg to differ.

Lyndon, Sean and Nathan all still play gigs.

Phil Gould doesn't, or else this digest would be flooded with drummers
shouting about it.

Phil Gould's website has never been updated from the general content that
went on it at its inception. I kept checking back periodically and nothing
changed - except for my recent check. It's gone..........

Before a Domain name expires, the registrant gets lots of emails warning
about its expiry at least 90 days before expiry. Now it's parked selling
advertising space until the highest bidder wants to buy philgould.com.

But what's the point in Lisa Harding buying it back when there hasn't been
any activity from the sites subject matter for...................how long?

As far as I'm concerned, Philip Gould has retired and it's a shocking waste.
Even if he never played with L42 again, it's a criminal, shocking waste not
to have him out there doing something.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Philip Gould has officially retired"

No, I don't really think that's true.  I, too, have been frequently checking Phil's website and have come across this same thing.  I really believe that Phil would be  gentlemen enough to at least let us all know, in his own way, that he will no longer maintain a website, similar to how his brother, Boon, signed off.  So I'm remaining optimistic.   Let's all hope that, perhaps in the near future, he will surprise us and bring back his site with all the great music and info that has been promised from so long ago.
I also think if he knew how many of us are REALLY WAITING to hear anything from him, he would do what he could to get back in touch.  Many on the digest have shared their experiences meeting with him, and their reports have been how very willing Phil is to speak with them. In fact, wasn't it posted on the other digest how, when Phil was recently in Milan with Mike Lindup, it was stated on "how glad he was that someone wanted to talk to him"?   I know how my experience meeting him was like he was my old friend, because he made the first move to come over to me and speak with me and the company I was with.

So no, I don't think that he would just up and leave just like that.  I,m going to keep my fingers crossed.

p.s.  Hey Phil, if you read this, I would love to talk with you...and I'm sure there are so many others who would love to do the same.

Deedee
