>First of all I'm very very very disappointed although
I'm a big fan of the guys!!! Level 42 played the old same song list >as all
the years before! Not even one single track from the forthcoming CD "Retroglide"
I can only assume that Mark is waiting for the
autumn tour before performing the new material live. This could be for any
number of reasons - an attempt to prevent piracy/bootlegs appearing online
before the release of the album for starters. Or perhaps -
inconceivably - the tracks aren't ready to be aired live. Or
perhaps Retroglide isn't up to scratch, and if we heard it now we wouldn't buy
the album in September. Excuse my cynicism.
That said, i can understand your frustration
Rainer - and those who attended the recent festival gigs - at this point surely
one new song wouldn't have been asking too much?
>They worked like a machine - no special things
happened - no extraordinary bass solo - nothing at all! It seems the magic
times of Level 42 are over! Sorry to say, but the performance leads to this
conclusion...
Welcome to the club Rainer - many have felt this
way for a number of years. For me, this was exactly how i felt after
seeing them at The Astoria. Watching Mark going through the motions
saddened me. I left the gig wondering if i was the only one who felt duped
by seeing the same performance as 12 months previously.
>Better had listened to Lyndon's interview at
www.level42info.com before asking, and you'd know the answer.
Did someone say shameless plug? Not everyone has time to sit through Lyndon's 3 hour interview though... steve Ascent Media Group Ltd, 1 Stephen Street, London W1T 1AL web: http://www.ascentmedia.co.uk The information contained in this e-mail is confidential and may be subject to legal privilege.
