| Well, no mention of the Forum gig on Sunday.....so I'll pipe up. It was a fine affair, quite a full house (downstairs at least) with a mixed crowd rather than 30/40 somethings with bored partners as I expected. All involved seemed on good form, I watched Hubbo for signs of boredom as he must surely be in intense practise for his jazz gigs, but no he was as 'lost in music' as ever. Mark was Mark, no change there and all appeared to enjoy themselves. The set list was a little shy of new material, if I'm critical, it was more of a greatest hits run through. A little medley of old stuff (Starchild and the like) was great but to brief. Guys - next time medley the hits and stretch the old stuff please. But the undoubted highlight was the guest for the evening, the worst kept secret of the year, Mr Mike Lindup in person in the flesh. The crowd went wild, and indeed Mr L appeared slightly wild and crazy too, something Mark put down to a fair degree of alcohol (2nd line of Starchild I think it was slipped into). It clearly was an emotional experience for them both and the shared glances spoke a million words. I was glad to be there to share, in a minor way, such a personal and moving time for them. Mike stayed on for the 2nd half of the show - no way he could have been dragged away from his Prophet anyway. So a good night, don't mind £30 as payback for all the enjoyment I've had from them for the last 25 years, something some of us shouldn't forget when we carp and criticise what Mark is doing now. I don't go to every tour, but a little support goes a long way. Runours of a CD being cut will allow others to share this memorable time. Bring it on. Don't forget Hubbo's tour - any musos will be enthralled. ===== Andrew Andrew_Harbron @ yahoo.co.uk Angel Training Services ___________________________________________________________ ALL-NEW Yahoo! | I posted a few weeks back about my 7 year old sons version of Micro Kid. Well once again he's intrigued me with the way a child's mind works. On two recent occasions he's referred to the song My Fathers Shoes as "That big boot thingy, you know, the one about the man with the shiny golden boots" and also as "The man with the big boots"! It's one of his favourite songs & yet he keeps forgetting the title. And yet tonight in the car he asked me if I had Past Lives on CD. A slightly unusual choice but by chance I did. He then went on to sing the whole song note perfect (even though he had to change key for the second half of each verse) and virtually word perfect. Then to cap it off he sang along to the keyboard break, again note perfect!! Kids, you've got to love them. Mark Woodhouse P.S, Have I missed something, I haven't seen any posts on the Forum Gig yet. --------------------------------------------------------------- LEGAL NOTICE Unless expressly stated otherwise, this message is confidential and may be privileged.
