| >> From: DonZipf @ aol.com <DonZipf @ aol.com> CHANGES generally is considered to be the finest of all the solo efforts by Level 42 alumni. Even those of us who principally are Mark King fans agree. << I love Mike's work. Changes is a good album. But it ain't got the balls or the pain of much of the _One Man_ material. Of course, Mark had the advantage of Boon's lyrics to play off. ...Alex... | ||

| In answer to David Richmond, unfortunately I can't remember which was the first Level 42 song I heard! However, I do remember the time & place that I heard it. It was a warm summer Saturday afternoon in 1985 (But then they were all warm summer afternoons in my memory). I was working as a young car salesman/dogsbody & I was parking a B-registered, "Autumn Gold" coloured Vauxhall Cavalier behind the showroom. The car stereo was on & Mark King was on Radio 1, taking over the show & enthusing about the "Physical Presence" LP. I was impressed & on my next day off I popped down to WH Smith & bought the album. Listening to it now still brings back memories of what would otherwise be forgotten people & places. It provided the soundtrack to good times when I was in my late teens & early twenties. I'd better stop writing now or I might burst into tears !! Twenty years ago this summer, doesn't time fly. Have a good weekend everybody, Mark Woodhouse --------------------------------------------------------------- LEGAL NOTICE Unless expressly stated otherwise, this message is confidential and may be privileged. | A number of people have had problems getting through on email to me and I'm pretty sure some of my messages have been blocked to others. I've fished a couple of emails out of the yahoo spam drawer, but if you are having trouble mailing me about trades, try: spam.can @ virgin.net I'm off to the forum to see my first bit of L42 since about 1991 sun 13th. I'm usually with L()z as far as my views of the current lineup goes, but time to see the current lineup in the flesh rather than DVD. st __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
