American types - was there much/any reaction to Ricky
Gervais winning two Golden Globes for The Office?

No, as most people have never seen the show.  I believe it is shown on BBC America, a channel almost no one has.  I would love to see the show, as it has received great reviews.  I'm sure it will come out on DVD so that I can rent it...

It’s cold outside. Winter is bellowing its foulest breath upon the inhabitants of the motorway compound, Sheffield. But inside, unbeknown to all around him, therein lies a feint glimmer of hope for the digest. Some might say THE SAVIOUR OF THE DIGEST.

Yes, I’m back.

I’m going to see Mike Lindup in Manchester and thoroughly looking forward to it.

Great to see we’ve got rid of the web-digest thread thingy – back to a purer form of digest, firmly entrenched in the sacred digest traditions; text, acrimony and Level 42.

Best to you all

Okay, I do not want to say "I TOLD YOU SO...." but,  after speaking with Mark King after the Cheltenham gig, he did say that he was touring next year (2004) and working on some new stuff.   I come back to the USA only to be told, NO that is not true, they are taking a year off - NOW there are tickets on sale for winter 2004 gigs - hmmmmmmm!  Level42.com has no info at all which is not surprising at all.  See ticketmaster.uk site:  http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk

New England Patriots - GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One poll here in Oklahoma city has the Carolina Panthers winning my 10 - hahahahaha - not going to happen!  Party at Eric's house if I remember......?

Ebay listings - I thought they were cool, I would not mind seeing them again, it is more interesting to read than those postings from Nightfly AG.... ;)

Until next time....

There was in my living room... Shannon and I jumped up and down as if
Leicester actually won a game! Then I spent most of the next few days
explaining who, why, where etc to my co-workers.

Gervais (& the office) is well received by the entertainment type people
here (Southern California).

The US version is a big mistake, unless Ricky is to play Brent in an
American office.

Well, since you asked, I liked the Digest the way it was, with daily Ebay and Web Digest summaries.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  :o)

AG & the Digest,

Nothing but sheer joy in our household for the two Golden Globes. Genius
of a show, I have never laughed and felt so uncomfortable at the same
time. Top job on that one you Brits!

Hi folks,

Let me state for the record I would like to see the return of the eBay listings of L42 rare material, vital stuff as there are some 12" I would like to get my hands on.  Also, I don't believe I've ever seen any of the videos made around the single releases of Guaranteed and Forever Now, does anyone have 'em?

How about the Guaranteed live video from 1992 in the Town and Country, that I would very much like to get a fresh copy of.  Someone once had the laserdisc version and taped it for a few of us back a few years.  It's kinda worn out a bit and I would like to have a CD version to listen to in the car.

So, there is the challenge, how do we get this going?

Sincerely,

Julian

Andrew,

The most interesting thing about his acceptance speeches was he stayed in character which I assume is his normal character.  That grin is priceless (oops - an opinion).

I was very excited that The Office won, as one of my fave channels is BBC America. I am absolutely additcted to Wire in the Blood.   I live in the Midwest where the idea of great entertainment is wrestling or monster truck shows, so I haven't really heard anything negative.

Does anyone here stateside have VH1 Classic? It's a digital cable music channel, and on Tuesdays they do video double plays. After 2 years of bitching about it to the to the husband, I FINALLY saw a L42 double play. They played Heaven In My Hands (I personally detest this video, though I may be in the minority) and of course Something About You. I know I may be drawn and quartered for not knowing this, but what exactly does MK say at the end of the video?

Since my Beloved Tampa Bay Bucs are not in the Super Bowl this year (I still can't talk about the MNF debacle against the Colts), I will be rooting for the Panthers.

And I'd love the Ebay list to come back.
