I have one of those. That thing's been around for some time, actually. How I got it was really a chance coincidence. I just happened to walk into a musical instrument store somewhere in town and my radar-like eyes caught sight of it. I believe that I am one of only two people in Singapore who have it. It's a rare gem over here. My mate got it imported from Europe.

Anyway, the track list is as follows:

 1 Hot Water
 2 Pamela
 3 Love Wars
 4 Bitter Moon
 5 Changing The Guard
 6 Love Games
7 To Be With You Again
 8 Mr. Pink
 9 Running In The Family
10 Lessons In Love
11 Something About You
12 The Chinese Way

There's a little bass solo just before Mr. Pink (as cool as always, nonetheless) and if your eyes are sharp enough, you could even spot a couple of cute German chicks in the audience.

My opinion.... it is to my heart's content :o)

To Jeff Mahoney, from Mizi

Cheers....

The Mark King ohne filter dvd - I have it, it's cool.
It's a good look at the new "grupo" in their earlier
days.

Highlights are, in my opinion, the guitar player Sean
what's his name. The way it's filmed is very intimate
and up close. Mark sweats a lot.

Lowlights? The bass sounds a bit tinny throughout the
whole show, and the keyboard player Lyndon throws up
the occassional brick of a background vocal, and don't
get me started on his rock n' roll wardrobe choice.
Gaaa.

Another lowlight is the crowd - a bunch of dorks just
standing there, for the most part. Appreciative but
extremely sedated.

If you want to hear the audio only, the digest at some
point put out a digest-only audio CD which I think is
called "Mark King in concert" - and I believe it is
exactly the same concert as is recorded on the Ohne
Filter dvd. Someone might have it somewhere . . .

Anyway, I still enjoy this dvd and look forward to
getting more.

but really, how is that Robben Ford CD
? I bet it rips, tell us!

take care,
-Tom

Jeff, I have both the Mark King and Marcus Miller appearances on Ohne Filter, and they are excellent.  I was never too crazy about the mix on the MK one, but it's still good.  You may notice, that Mark is wearing the Digest pin-badge I had given him on his guitar strap, both in the show and on the cover!

Ohne Filter Musik Pur  =  "without filter, pure music"

The new line-up (sans Sean Freeman) was recorded on 15 June 1999 & it did appear to be an episode from the television series.  Copies of this DVD often show up on eBay.  If you cannot find it any other way (I think I ordered it from Ohne, but I can no longer recall), you may wish to go that route.  If nothing else, it will certainly be cheaper.
