| >If it wasn't for Mark King being out on the road right now (still holding a L42 banner) - I highly doubt that this >digest, or the web-digest, would still be here to bi#ch and moan about it. What rot. The intermission period between the end of Level 42 and the re-emergence of Mark was one of the most fruitful times for the digest. Mark's solo stuff was a boost, but there's simply nothing to say about 'GMK/Level 42'. Mark is touring playing old Level 42 songs, it's dull - ardent fans are being turned off by it. There's no creativity at all, the performances are not exceptional. We are being served up the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM that can be justified for £30. I paid about £8 to see Mike Lindup's wonderful recent performance in Manchester. Incomparable. One thing straight. I'm more interested in ignoring Mark's tours as irrelevances than moaning about them. I've certainly stopped going to them. No doubt it Mark does release an album of new material next year (if indeed he is legally permitted to do so) his will lauded to the highest heaven. However, this will be tantamount to thanking the butcher for meat. Mark should have forgotten about Level 42 and had been using his considerable talent to put out material of the same quality as One Man - if he'd done this, you'd have been hearing no negative comments from me - the opposite. >Stevie Wonder - Innervisions >Steely Dan - Aja >Jason Rebello - Keeping Time >All indisputably (if you don't believe me ask around) >exceptional albums. Innervisisions is an exceptional album. You can keep Stevie's "I Just
Called To Say I Love You" nonsense - this album is essential
listening.
Speaking of which, Hot Fuss by The Killers
is the disc i'm wearing out at the moment. Not a weak track on the album
and a winner from the very first listen. If you want to download a
sample then Mr Brightside is the one...
