My apologies for not meeting your standards in my grading scale. >Because when your heart is breaking That was a heart breaking? Again, my apologies to you in not meeting your standard in saying this. It seems that, publicly and private email-wise, you and I agree on quite a few things, you just seem to have a problem with the way I express my view. Shall I apologize again? I’m not you, AG, and I’m pretty "ok" with that, why can’t you be? As bloody usual, people argue (or comment on) the method and not the points put forth or comments rebutted... -DonZ > > Why not? Thank gawd there are no photos of that. -level42love >I doubt that Mike (whom I saw live at > Pizza On The Park) would even touch any L42 material > if the split were that acrimonious. While the demise of Level42 is hardly as smoldering a break as so many in music history, kindly note that just about every solo ‘artists’ has done tunes from their prior band, no matter how blistering the split was. - Tom Foolery > By Shiva, I of course WAS referring to > Dr. Theravada Shiva, the noted ecofeminist. I thought so!! She and I _do_ have the same hair-style. >Perhaps I was just reacting to the > zillion times I see Loz provoked, Well, at least 98% of those times it was warranted, no? :P > Still, (jt), if you wake up one morning and find > that the parentheses ( ) have been stolen off of your > keyboard . . . that will be me. :) I’ve got back-up! But thanks for the forewarning. -Sean D. Green > This would only make > you susceptible to Loz (of course), and therefor > provide no resistance. That was the intention. Note the quotes (that were) around heal. Not too mention the original usage (by Loz) of "heal" was inapplicable. As we can’t even discuss music on here, and terms like "jazz" continually get abused I didn’t feel the need to get really complicated via the world of immunology. j(ay) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Well I must admit that I haven't posted a message in a while, but I entirely agree with Dean Osborn about Level 42. It was never about one member, it's all five of them (yes I am including Wally Badarou) together. For me, Mark was the one that had the funky sound, Mike brought his classic smooth sound to the mix, Boon was more of the rock muse, Phil was the artistic jazz guy, and Wally rounded it out with his unique sound. Take any one of those guys away and there is no Level 42 IMO. I haven't kept up with the new incarnation of Level 42 either because of that. The original members just had a chemistry that will probably never be achieved again sad to say. Even Gary Husband and the late Alan Murphy couldn't replace Boon and Phil in my eyes, although I did like Staring at the Sun, it was a good album, and Guaranteed is also a good album but neither are as good as the band's first eight albums. I was hoping for a full L42 reunion and a new album after Forever Now, it
seemed like they did recapture some of the old juice but that didn't happen, :(. Mike, Phil, and Boon all seem to be doing fairly well as solo artists, and I think that Mark's talents would be better suited pursuing his solo career as well (One Man is awesome!) rather than trying to hang on to the past glory of Level 42. Feel free to disagree, lol, but this is just how I see it. :) Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. Try it! | ||

>Yes, 2 (or 3) months. Your sense of timing is arcane.
Close J(a)y (for you). No, about 5 years. Oh but then you weren’t around then, were you, Jay.
>Better yet, I am currently working on some anti-Loz
Are they in the form of a LOZenge? (You tee ‘em up – I’ll knock ‘em down the fairway)
>Why not? How do you know that, given the chance, they might hit their stride as comosers and surprise us all? From what you've said, it sounds to me like you're more >interested in personalities than in music.
That’s a fair point Don. But if I’ve to ‘give people a chance’ what makes Mark’s band special? Why should I look there and not at any other random folk I have no idea about? Instead of just sitting around and hoping three fellas whose output I’ve never heard and which may never appear just might be to my liking; I’d be better off either 1) listening to the music I know I like or 2) going out and finding some other music I like. Either way, just because Mark calls them Level 42 their output is no more likely to appeal to me than anyone else’s. Lets be honest, I’d be much better off getting into YCB – at least I know they have similar influences to my favourite band and are therefore more likely to produce music I enjoy. (I’m not going to do that though)
