| Recently discovered by chance a website where a chap with a huge enthusiasm for 80s pop puts up each week a new mp3 of some obscure act or track. This week, for example, it's a rare Clark Datchler number. In the past he's included such "I'll never hear that other than on vinyl" gems as Haircut 100's Fish In A Bowl (album version - far superior), Gun Law by The Kane Gang, We Feel Good by Endgames, and one of my favourite records of all time, I Wouldn't Want To Knock It by Cook Da Books. Also up there in the previously posted section is Leisure Process's A Way You'll Never Be, the Level 42 association of which will be known by most but which for the uninitiated features Mark King and Phil Gould. He was decent enough to send me a copy of this (amongst others), and wonderful though it is to have on CD it unfortunately has a jump after about a minute. So a) does anybody have a non-jumping mp3 of this track or b) does anybody want to be sent a copy with a single jump in it? In either case drop me a line. It's probably against the law but since the odds of this track ever seeing the light of day on a bona fide CD release are unfeasibly long, I'll take my chances. AG PS I've asked this chap whether he's OK with me passing on his website address, but he's not got back to me yet. If he's happy to then I'll let everybody know. ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger - Communicate instantly..."Ping" your friends today! Hey... Looks like someone posted the contents of Level Best (in SVCD format, one file per video) to the newsgroup alt.binaries.mpeg.video.music. It was posted Feb 13, so you don't have much time (my ISP graciously hosts these files for a month). If you're too cheap or otherwise lazy (like me) to pick up the video collection, now you don't have to :-) | ||

| > Level 42 - Hellendoorn Festival 2004 According to Level42.com, the lads are opening for Simple Minds. Funny, I only remember SM having one hit, at least here in the US. Did they have a lot more in Europe or something? IMHO, they should be opening for our boys, not the other way around! :o) Z. | ||

Just got back from his show this afternoon. It was
fantastic. If anyone wants anymore info or pics then email me. The set was a mix
of both his albums and some lovely arrangements of some Level 42 material. If
you get a chance to see him on his up and coming dates, don't miss it. I was
lucky,as Creer is an old farmhouse with a converted room with glass front
panels. It looks onto the Paps of Jura and the set had the most picturesque
backdrop you could ever imagine. Adding that to Mike's band was just
sublime. |
