The cover always reminds me of T.S. Eliot's
"The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock".

Knowing that at least the Goulds were highly
literate I wouldn't be surprised to find such
connections between their lyrics, art, and literature.
But I may be overestimating a bit. Who knows really.
It's probably the Steely Dan fan in me that wants to
think that a group capable of producing such good music
also cared about other sources of inspiration, i.e.,
literature and art.

Alright geezers ...

... I visited 'The Complete Level 42 Collection of
L.F. Green -
http://homepages.shu.ac.uk/~conslfg/42record.htm -
being a man of few words, all I can say is "bugger me
senseless, now THAT is a collection!" Loz, I'd like to
ask if you have:

GUARANTEED LC 08637 BMG/Ariola Germany
guaranteed / forever now / with a little love / my
father's shoes / talking in your sleep / one in a
million / romance / overtime / love in a peaceful
world / set me up / all over you / if you were mine /
her big day / tired of waiting / the ape / seven
years. I think I sent a copy to my man Win.

LO MEJOR DE LEVEL 42 - LA COLECCION DEL MILENIO
Polydor/dist. Universal Music Venezuela
Same tracklisting as Universal Masters Collection.

Not exactly L42 but...
FREE by Rick Astley 1991 PD 74896 RCA/BMG
contains two tracks - 'Be With You' and 'Really Got A
Problem' - written by Rick Astley and Mark King. I put
these tracks on a compilation CD for Lolita.

Did you get the thing I sent you? I think I may have
seen it on your list but not sure.

Also, I have a spare vinyl copy of Mark's 'Influences'
if anyone wants to give me something nice for it...?

Glad several of you took up my 'Bird on the cover of
Level 42 album' question - thanks for clearing it up.
The reason I asked was that I'd seen a couple of
silver pendants (Nefertiti I guess) that I liked but
they weren't quite right. Call me old-fashioned, but
I'd love to wear a silver chain with a representation
of the L42 Bird.

Cheers ~ Mike (Sydney City Milkman)
