| Stephen.Whyte @ lpc.tv > My post was more to demonstrate my frustration with > eBay and how online > auction sites have contributed to the decline of the > good old record fair > and second hand record store. While this may be slightly true, and partially stated for the sad demise of a great deal of used book stores (far, far more important that music shops); don't knock escalating rents and lower consumer purchasing power (and for books stores, the high end is just the complete dumbing of people and their nestling into a Harry Potter-esque world). So, while you may lack the euphoric feeling of walking into a shop, you can't complain that the desired items you are looking for are harder to find. And prices, basically, negotiable. > discovered that my new landlord is... > > ...Eric Clapton. hopefully, for your sake, the walls are insulated and thick. If not I have an extra pair of earplugs I can send you. I always keep extras cuz one never knows when Friesen is gonna go on a bitch wave... and as if on cue: alex.friesen @ sickkids.ca > What's this!? What's this!? J! Sharmin! What's been > going on behind my > back with you two?! This was not supposed to get unearthed...let's just say I have Shars just in case that icky SARS thing takes fully effect, Toronto Boy. You _were_ looking a bit peaked when last we met, AF...nor have you explained the obviously encoded 'blue' reference to Mr. Foolery being "bounced" whenever he "mailed" (yeah, right) you... Monique Williams > Taking everyone back a few years, to > the movie GHOST. Oye. Who's our resident lawyer here? Can I sue for Severe Swayze Flashbacks? I feel ill... Maybe we could create a new game and call it _Situation:Cover 42_. Basically the premise is just do what MK has done with the band. Since the turbid mentioning of Swayze is still messing with my head, we’ll use him as the first contestant: PS, whose career has taken a slight, let’s say, downward turn, takes that script to Dirty Dancing off of his coffee table and goes about recasting the film. Nepotism _is_ allowed in the his game, kiddies. The movie is re-filmed, word for word (original locations used, when possible). As Jennifer Gray wanted nothing to do with it (although there is a small in-clarity in the matter, PS _may_ not have wanted here to be involved), Gilbert Godfrey is cast as Jennifer Gray’s character. Dirty Dancing, Situation 42. This could be fun! Who’s next? j __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. http://search.yahoo.com | ||

I just wanna say thanks to
everyone who has made alternate musical suggestions.
As a direct result of trying
out some of the suggestions, I have become a fan of the
following:
Diana Krall
John Mayer
Incognito
Steely Dan (renewed
interest)
Level 42 (continued
interest)
Well, that's all I can think of
right now, but you get the idea. If you find more that attract your
attention, please keep the suggestions coming.
Thanks
again!!
BOSSMAN
P.S. Jules and Mo...I
haven't forgotten about what I owe you. It'll be coming to you this
week!! Thanks for your patience with my moving
woes! | ||

| Don't be surprised to find Eric Clapton as your landlord. Loads of successful musicians who took good financial advice in the 70's/80's will have ploughed back their royalties into property in preparation for when the music industry bubble inevitably bursts. Knowing Clapton, he probably bought a good portion of Clapham when it was cheap. The double bonus for him, is that he's probably never had to fall back on it for income as he has remained consistently successful as "guitar legend" status! Oh yes, the rock superstars of the yesteryears are today's property owning establishment tycoons. So much for rebellion hey? What next, John Lydon in real estate? thedrumdoctor | ||

It all began with the hot water
riff. Mark created this on a minimoog in 79 . In 1984 Mike reminded Mark to that
riff.
Sandstorm was on the early
tapes album released in 82.
That means hot water is the
naked version of sandstorm.
There you are
!
Another reminder; Love meeting
love was actually meant as Love making Love ! Mark didnt read the
words right
Im glad i solverd the HW
/sandstorm mistery ! pfff... | ||

| >9 - Island discs >From: TPM1024 @ aol.com <TPM1024 @ aol.com> > >I feel I should take one for the team and write something ridiculous to >lull AG out of his slumber. Faced with such an act of immolation I feel duty bound to postpone my potential estivation. To be honest TPM, I just haven't felt the inclination to contribute to any of the ill-tempered sniping (it would appear that others have significantly surpassed me in the art of pointlessly offending people, my one true skill), nor have I had the energy to try and lighten the tone with any of my trademark verbose twaddle. I was on the verge of sending something a while back when I read the following here: "The beatles had pretty much no musical or lyrical talent once out of the 60s. Their music was very repetetive, and was based around only 5 chords. Lyrics wise, once they had to write for longer than 3 minutes they came up with naaah na naa naah (hey jude)." I tried to find words to encompass my responses to this extraordinary paragraph, but I came up blank. Speechlessness seemed the only adequate reaction. So I’ll just try and ease myself back into contributing. I’ve come by a fairly rough copy of the Thunderthumbs & The Toetsenman 12”. Unfortunately it’s got a fair bit of surface marking/crackle – nothing too dreadful, but audible all the same – and no picture sleeve. That said, it may be of use to any fruitcake completist out there, so drop me a line if so. Right, back to trying to sell my one-liners for $125 a pop on eBay now.
