Hmmm. I do have to say that this is possibly the most
bizarre thing I've ever read. Why not choose someone
that actually continues to work? (and, if memory
serves, you aren't even a musician/song-writer, no?)
Although I do have a great deal of envy for someone
that works for 10 or 15 years and then does
near-nothing.
Don't get me wrong, I dig Phil; but "genius"?
da Vinci, Einstein, Feynman, JS Bach, Faulkner, Phil
Gould. Hmmmm.
Or maybe I’m misreading and you are merely discussing
genetics…

Sure, and maybe Oxford has some different definition
of "freedom", allows random misquoting and other such
acts of ignorance. Fine. I concede.
Although defence/defense derives from the Latin
“defensum” (nice little "s" there) ...but you’re' the
one that, I think it was, 'obviously wants to be a
journalist', so what do I know?

smooch,

I have now realised that I must never ever pass comment on the current price of Ebay items. It's totally unfair and unnecessary and can cause massive offence. I have learnt from the error of my past ways and apologised to all concerned. This whole sorry episode of my life is behind me now, and, with my therapist, I have been able to look at auctions with items as much as 3.2 times overpriced without breaking the shackles of the restraining chair. Sadly, the side effect of this therapy is an inability to spell the word 'sea' and a predisposition to be relatively unexcited by Mark King's Level 42.

Having to sit and wait for a new album is the worst thing in the world, especially when we don't even have a date. It's a tantalising prospect. I remember how I felt buying Forever Now, played the album non-stop all evening that day - cold not believe how good it was.

I will do and thanks to all who sent in messages for me to pass on, which i have done so..

Mickey Payne wrote> I read this on Carl's site http://www.forevernow.com - What brought all this on?  After reading it twice through - I am even more confused......

Mickey...as Gary has stated, hes not happy with the current situation and made that statement so as to make sure there was no speculation into what might or is going to occur.
I thinks its a admirable thing to do and all for us fans to be in the know, so to speak  and on the YCB, we are proud to have him on board..I am looking forward to working with Gary as are the band whom i know are as excited as i am. :)

it sounds as if gary knows more than he wants to reveal.
or maybe he's just sick and tired of always being considered
a qualified copycat. but on the other hand, he seems pretty
excited about the upcoming events with MK and the rest -
albeit MK's mind surely must be somewhere else when
performing 10-20 year old songs and new material is cookin'.

that is, if there really is a project in the formation to bring
the original lineup together again. but then what? assume
the album is released, and for the first time since world
machine it's a bull's eye, 100%. everyone's happy. digesters
are saved; at least 1 year's worth of postings. phil & boon
returns to various individual projects, mike gets his record-
deal and MK starts chasing a new lineup to take on the road?

potentially messy to say the least. at the end of the day I
only hope, hope, hope that the new album will happen and
that it's a truly "level's best" ever. 10 years later they come
back and turn everybody's head again. matured, but still with
the magic that is the reason we all still care about them so much.

that box ticked, I can only dream about seing them perform
together again. dream on. dream crazy.

on another note: does anyone know what happened to linx
(or, rather david grant / sketch)??

    MIKEY

Mikey!! Them's is fightin' words!!  You have GOT to be kidding, right?

 - I am even more confused......
    MIKEY

Could you elaborate on what confused you?
I read it (I think it was already posted on the digest as well, no?) and I think I understood fairly well what Gary was trying to say.
It sounds as though he IS disappointed that the 'new' direction of L42 does NOT include his input or collaboration.
Also, he is disappointed that the existing touring band as a whole will not be involved in the 'natural evolution' of the band.

AG
PS Sharmin, please pass on to Gary Husband my admiration for the dignified
manner in which he has once again conducted himself.

I'm glad you so eloquently spake thusly forth (sorry that's the best I can do).
Sharmin, please ditto thusly to Gary for me!!!!
Maybe a petition is in order?  Anyone, anyone??!!  Ferris?

PS - AG, I believe I know you answer, but, Nightfly or Kamakiriad?  Your take?

Earth Wind & Fire. Just ordered the new CD "The Promise" as well as "Live in Rio." Will review if anyone desires.

I like Aja simply because there are just not enough sports whistles in pop.

Check out The Tubes's "Sports Fans" for more of your favourite instrument.

But I beseech; please don't leave me hear alone with the likes of Alex.
<<

Did you catch that? He "beseeches" you. Who can turn down a plea like
that? Except I believe he meant: "I beseecheth thee, leavest me not
entwinethed within the clutches of The Freezin'."

>>
JT, you slay me.

Or, JT, I could do that for you, since I'm already in the same town as
Colin. And I owe you for those CDs.

but I have never been
even remotely bored by any post AG has ever made.
<<

Oh, AG has bored me before. Like, remember that time he used a word with
only three syllables? What a yawn-fest that was!

And what's with this fascination for AG's pants? Oh, wait, it's the
interest in his LACK of pants! Now I understand. Hubba hubba.

and Friesen and JT are into pvc -

Now _that_ I find rude and offensive on a deeply personal level! I'll have
you know that we only wear genuine leather, you gypsum-faced froth-pot!

I have just purchased the Ohne Filter Concert from Play.com (it doesn't
state Pal or NTSC on the packaging). It was recorded in June 1999 and IMHO
is very good. It features four tracks from One Man and the usual Level 42
greatest hits. Thumbs up from me.
