Gee whiz, that trip to Spain really had its effect on
Hansen. Take it easy on the Rosado next time,
Hemingway…
Chamelia, the downfall of these festival atmospheres
is that the bands have a certain time slot to fill and
are scheduled to perform at a contracted time. Of
course a proper manager can negotiate these things,
but, the usual standing is: the later you go on (i.e.
closer to Headlining), the more Rupiah (in your case)
you can covert to Sterling.
And the downfall of a following a band that is simply
pimping a collection of tunes (hence the wonderment of
the tour’s name) is that the set list,-as it has
already reached petrified levels- will probably cater
toward a general audience (i.e. one not necessarily
familiar with the band, as other ticket holders may
come to watch/listen to (a) different band(s) and
therefore need a spark of remembrance, or the most
accessible tunes).
That said, most would be pleased as punch that
“Tracie” was not played…

Hello ALL!

Over the weekend I received a new CD of Rick Astley that he recorded in 2001 called "Keep It Turned On".   I have to say any fans of his will definitely want to get their hands on this CD.   The CD reminded me of MK's CD "Trash" mixed with the new adult-techno that seems to be working itself into mainstream pop these days (i.e. "One Man").  It was a nice change for Rick, you can tell that he is (or was) trying to find a way to showcase his wonderful voice in today's arena - I think he managed to find just the right groove - EXCELLENT!  The only drawback to the CD is that the longest track is only 4:00 minutes.   It is difficult to find - it was released via the German Polydor/Universial and CRUZ Music - I found my copy on Ebay of course for US$30.00 - well worth it IMHO!

MIKEY

PS:  A fellow digest member who shall remain nameless was kind enough to send me 2 discs full of nothing but Steely Dan material - I promised him that I would give it all a fair listen - as apparently I have not been truly enlightened - stay tuned!
