| Hi friends Regarding digests - a while ago when the email digest went down due to a machine move/maintenance or something, I created a yahoo 'list/group' while we were digestless. Never got round to giving it to Eric / Don / Win et al. At the weekend I learned that the w/digest has changed hands again. Anyway, if you guys (Eric, Win, Don, Dan, Lisa et al) ever need it for emergency purposes or whatever, its all yours. Otherwise I should delete it. I somehow ended up on a Mazda list too. I've never owned one, so that beats me. Anyway, I met Lolita and Dan again at the weekend, it brought back some great memories. Lovely people. Bilal | ||

>> From: jt <jtraci @ yahoo.com> >> Terry Arnett: >> So, in essence, there are times when two drummers >> working together CAN work. And outstanding job with taking it back to the old drum-duel days; essential history in the lore of hittin' the skins. << Now this is just too much for a reasonable person to bear. I can no longer stand by in silent witness to this sort of writing. Clearly, we expect something quite different from this JT person, and I, for one, am shocked and appalled by his current demeanor. I mean, if we're _all_ starting to be nice to each other, where's the fun? I've put in an official request to Eric, deity of the digest, to remove JT from our community unless he can promise, once and for all, to return to his roots and forsake this new-found friendly streak. Normally I'd just ignore this sort of thing, but enough is enough, people! ...Alex...

The digest only turns up every so often. Not sure
why it doesn't arrive some days but have to say it doesn't look like I'm missing
much so I'm not that bothered.
Also notice not many members of the previous digest
seem to post anymore and I can't blame them. I can hardly be bothered to
nowadays.
Seems like all I'm reading when it does is someone
pulling Level 42 apart or maybe it's pick on Mark day and then pick on Gary day. Fair enough if that's your view but I do wonder why they bother being a
part of the digest if you they don't enjoy them anymore or haven't
liked them since 1985 or whatever.
I don't want to hear just good things about the
band, constructive criticism is good, but I think I'd expect all people on
here to be quite keen on them and trying to look at the best in whatever they
have done or are doing at the moment.
I've read here recently that apparently The Beatles
didn't have any real talent and any song that went over 3 minutes had to have Na
Na Na added to it because they couldn't write words beyond that!!!
Staggering
Now apparently Phil Collins isn't any good at
drumming. He was when he was in a little known band but once he became famous he
lost that talent completely. Poor chap.
I notice it a lot that
supposedly knowledgeable music experts (self appointed) in the
general public think you are only hip and happening if you like artists
not widely known and liked. I find that very sad
I also read the web digest had been getting a lot
of problems lately too and it just makes you wonder what kind of lives some
people lead.
cheers
Pete

Wow, what a cool
mix! This is very creative, and I'd love to hear more like
this.
I know there are a
few other fan mixes (DJ mixed/beatmatched, etc.) Does
anyone
know if there is a
"master" list of links somewhere?

FYI, after nearly 10
years of distributing the Level 42 Digest at 6am EST, I am
changing it to 5am
EST for bandwidth/traffic reasons. Also note that the
Marketplace
time (ebay listings)
will also be one hour earlier.

So you can view my forum as just > an alternative, not a replacement. No worries, although if we now have three separate systems up and running, it'll either further splinter the group or have some effect on the other sites. After Eric reintroduced the email digest, postings on the web digest dropped off dramatically. I don't know what the situation is with your host, but we might be able to collaborate somewhere--I don't have time to read most of the posts and Lisa, although doing a top job, also doesn't have time to keep up with things. > My wife and I will be in London for a few days (Apr 29 - > May 2). Any digesters wanting to get together, send us an email. Shame -- I'm leaving London tomorrow, 30 April to go back to Seattle otherwise I'd have been happy to hook up. Enjoy your trip, mine has been a fantastic two weeks, although I'm knackered and ready to sleep in my own bed. Still, I always feel homesick for London whenever I'm not here.

Worst video moment? Weave
Your Spell - the outfits and hairdos were atrocious!! I laugh every time I
see it...
BTW, big ups to Paul Hammond
for scoring tix to Incognito at the Jazz Cafe on Friday night. There were
at least four digesters there [sorry I didn't know you were going, Brian] and
the concert was fantastic. Bluey actually hung out with the fans for an
hour before the show at a nearby pub, and let a number of us into the greenroom
after the show for most of the night. He is one of the nicest men I have
ever met.
In addition, my wallet was
stolen while we were hanging out in the pub. He was so concerned that he
made sure I was taken care of, and had his manager give me money! I
couldn't believe it. It made me realize that people who are in this
business have vastly different personalities. Mark is Mark and Bluey is
Bluey and I can accept that. I think the difference is that because Bluey
is laid back, he doesn't attract fanatical fans who harass him. I was in
the greenroom for about two hours and each person there was nothing but
respectful, and didn't really ask a ton of questions. People were just
luxuriating in the vibe. BTW, Dan James was there with me and can attest
to all of this...

Does anyone know where there might be an mp3 of 'Oh Darling' that I could download? The streaming version on Forevernow.com doesn't seem to work very well.
