Lastly, is there a remastered Guaranteed?

Thanks for your help!

> If any of you ever heard of Primus, and the bassist Les Claypool, in my opinion he's quite a slapper himself. I just got back to listening to one of their songs "Tommy The Cat" and it displayed an uncanny yet impressive bassline, for a funk rock-ish tune, that is. He does sing and play at the same time, although he sings more comically and sometimes offbeat. We often associate such singing and playing talent with our beloved bass god Mark King. But singing offbeat and incoherently, maybe that takes a bit of a screw loose, and slapping on a six string at that. So does anyone here think that he fits in our list of favorite bass players, or is he just another

Hey Mizi,
Yes, Les Claypool is a bass wizard. A slapper indeed, and although comical in his lyrics and vocal delivery, highly musical, in my opinion. Primus always seems to have been considered a heavy or alternative rock band, but I think a lot of their stuff is really funky. I saw Les live with his own band at a small venue and was mesmerized.

4.  My First World Machine

I was visiting my dad in New York sometime in late fall 1986 or early
1987 I think, I was about 16, and we went to an electronics store
because he had to get a couple things. He asked if I had a CD player
and of course I didn't, CD players were still pretty new and expensive
back then. So he bought me one, and told me to pick out some CDs. I was
looking through their fairly small selection when one caught my eye -
World Machine. I had absolutely loved Something About You from hearing
it on the radio and I knew I had to get it. He also got me a nice pair
of headphones, and we left the store.

When we got back to his house, I plugged it in, put the headphones in,
put the disc in, and pushed play. The first sound I heard was the
now-so-familiar sound of the World Machine synth lead-in. Yep, for some
reason that store had the UK version of World Machine. I didn't even
find out that there was a different US version until after I joined
this digest, heh.

I sat there for at least 2 hours, listening to the clearest music I had
ever heard, and also some of the best music I had ever heard. I was
instantly and permanently hooked on Dream Crazy and I Sleep On My
Heart, two favorites I know I share with Lolita. :) And even now as I
write this I have that CD in front of me, a bit worn from thousands of
plays, the CD sleeve a bit yellowed with age but still in good shape.

This is more than a CD to me, it's a reminder of a lot of things. My
dad, New York, my first real exposure to Level 42, the astonishing
clarity of CDs (I was used to tapes and had forgone the whole LP
experience), and the realization that I wanted to make music like these
guys. And I still do. :)
