Hey Mikey,
just a short word of comfort (there's not only hatred out there) and advice
(the nasty bees are noisy, but not too many: ignore them).
Greetings from Helsinki and hopefully hear from you again on the digest
(which I'm sure is still mainly populated by great people and Level 42 fans
who want to discuss music).

Hmmm, looks like I kicked up a bit of a storm.

I have mailed Mikey to apologise, and I'd like to do so publicly too.
Re-reading my post, I appreciate it does contain a negative slant but it
was never my intention to personally attack Mikey, nor call into question
his credibility.

My post was more to demonstrate my frustration with eBay and how online
auction sites have contributed to the decline of the good old record fair
and second hand record store. Similarly, the plague of ticket touts taking
the piss on eBay anger me too - the recent farce surrounding Glastonbury
tickets is a prime example. Ebay has quickly become the only place to buy
certain items, and as a result there are those out there who have taken
advantage of this for financial gain.

However, I would like to reitterate that it was never my intention to
suggest that Mikey was attempting to take advantage of Level 42 fans in
this way. We are all aware of Mikey's efforts to get U.S digesters over
here to the UK for the forthcoming tour and I'd feel awful if he were to
unsubscribe from the digest because of my post.

Mikey, I apologise once again for any offence caused.
Steve

Many will see this as a pathetic attempt to deflect attention, but there's
something I just have to share with you all.

I've just moved into my new flat in the Clapham area of London. I went to
the estate agents to sign the lease and you can imagine my surprise when I
discovered that my new landlord is...

...Eric Clapton.

Straight up.
