Mike has been delaying the release of Conversations With Silence for some time now, mainly because he's been trying to secure the release through an independant label. Does anyone know how this is progressing, or does the recent announcement mean there will be a further delay until after the summer? And for what it's worth, I believe that if it wasn't for our two initialled posters then sadly this digest would rapidly become a mundane experience. Keep it up, guys. | --Sabs42 @ aol.com> Sabs42 @ aol.com> > wow - yesterday > I've seen them again.... Um, did they do some surprise gig? I thought they weren't playing until the 7th... > - FANTASTIC MarkyBaby!! Mikey, I think we now know what the Touring Troupe Ala Level 42 should be called. It's a winner!! >for me it was the first time since Mark performed solo > again... heh heh > Funny was when Mark said: "Ok, we are Level 42 and > this is Dream Crazy...." > ? > Can't remember him saying who they are at any > show...is that necessary?? :-)) Trying to convince himself? Or the fans? (semi-seriously, as this was a festival thing, not everyone is familiar with each band, so this is mere formality to hopefully hock product/interest in the music.) > Unfortunately Mark didn't appear to say "Hello" to a > small bunch of fans > waiting for him to get an autograph after the show. Way to go MK, or rather, MarkyBaby. >SharminHall @ aol.com I would make comments on this post but my doctor informed me that a real sign of my "downfall" will be when I am conversing with myself. -- jt < and I'd reply to this, but this guy is an Arschlosh and I dont "understand" what he says... --Dan Nesselroth > I guess suppose Gary was not invited to drum on the >studio album because ummmmm......he's "not Phil". >I'd be > angry if I got sacked or > nearly sacked each time Phil crawls out of his hole. Thank you for having some clarity and not being a "true" fan. --AG > I can imagine them [Touring Troupe 42] being most perturbed. No kiddin', (and Loz, you're not back with my coffee) > Michael Redgrave, Dead Of Night. Ealing Studios I > believe. Certainly decades > before Rod Serling ever pictured anything. ok. Noted. >AG :- IS THE LOST CHUCKLE BROTHER! I just liked this post title so much I placed it here again. > What about Gary Husband? 'You were good enough then > but not now'? I think this is just a prime e.g. of the ol’ ‘art imitating life’ with MK simply “be(ing) strong to the friends you know”. --Nick Lauro Nice post, Nick. > First of all, they don't need a record company. Why? Good point, I’ve seen several mentions that the new Simply Red is a self-released project, and they are getting air play and vid play quite a bit, plus they are playing a venue far larger than MarkyBaby played here last year. But I think the label thing will be pursued, if not for the sole reason(s) that they (the label) will pick up the leg-work (promoting, distribution and other things that L42 have never had smashing suck-sess at), and then if the project washes ashore dead (enter Roy Schieder), well, there’s always someone else to blame. > I think we're looking at an artistic release here, >where the monetary stakes aren't really at risk as >much a the "criticalacclaim" aspects are. I highly disagree, but very much enjoyed your post, and in this case, would actually love to be wrong. j __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I realise that word > and news from the "guys" themselves to their webmasters are hard to > come by - would be cool to see a united and clear message on each > members website. Just trying to see if this is wishful thinking on > Boon's part - or if they are really serious this time - as another "Oh > yeah - we're going to do this and that and go tour there and > there..........!!!" will seriously damage the remaining "LOYAL" fan > base that is left IMHO! Well, I don't really know what qualifies one as a "loyal" fan. I have a pretty good collection of Level 42 albums and I enjoy their music. If they release a new album, I'll buy it without having heard any of it beforehand, does that make me loyal? Perhaps I am jaded, but I like to consider myself a realist. I've consigned myself to the idea that the last Level 42 album was Forever Now. The news that they are in the studio working on a new album is certainly welcome news to me. To be honest, my quality of life will not be affected if a new album is not released before I die. If a new CD is released, great! If not, I'm not any worse off than I am now. At the risk of raising the ire of other Digesters, I'll say this: Life is much too short to worry about whether or not I'm going to hear any new music from Level 42. I will now don my asbestos suit. Flame away. -- Michael Monsen There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't. | ||
