It`s so sad to here about Robert Palmer`s passing.
Another great artist in his own right leaving us. I
still haven`t quite digested the death of Gregory
Hines. As Luther VanDross sings it`s so amazing to be
loved!!! May They Rest in Peace *

=====
peace mo

Altough I'm subscribed I really think this e-mail digest is of  no use anymore.
With the webdigest being what it is today this place is really a waste of
well everything it comes into contact with. If I were you I should call it a
day and shut it down but maybe I'm wrong.

Eric, I'd say that everyone's p****d off with speculating about the glimmer
of hope that was to be a fresh collaboration by the original four. With no
"official" word on progress/lack of progress/a complete non-event, the old
saying "flogging a dead horse" comes to my mind. In addition to this,
there's probably a limit to how much people really want to discuss other
side-issues such as "The Ultimate Tour".

At this point, if there's never going to be an original collaboration, I'd
much prefer it if they drew a line under the whole Level 42 thing (including
the Ultimate Tour) and each go and do something else high-profile in music
where we could all get chance to see them individually spreading their
wings. One analogy that comes to mind is when Hamish Stewart, ex-Average
White Band turned up in Paul McCartney's band for a few years. Who knows,
perhaps they've had these sort of opportunities in the past but have
declined them for various reasons. From a selfish point of view, all I'm
bothered about is seeing Phil play in live situation again, whether that be
in an arena, theatre or 200 capacity jazz club. The odd contribution on a
recording somewhere would be nice and even a drum clinic wouldn't go amiss.
But like I've said before in earlier posts, Steve White from Paul Wellers
band has tried to entice Phil out to play but he won't do it. "It's such a
waste" were the words Mr White said to me....

If you're going to do a reunion, do it like Duran Duran and have done with
it, or do something completely fresh instead. Look at the likes of bands
like Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine. Some of their ex-members have
managed to move on into the likes of Audioslave and Pearl Jam.

The other option is to do be rich enough to be able to afford to do
absolutely nothing and sit at home collecting the PRS royalties....

Well....all seems to be quiet (very quiet) on the western front..........

so while we wait for someone to resurface with some new and interesting info
on their websites....

(yoohoo.....phil, boon, mike, mark...where art thou?)

here's a question I've always wanted to ask....I understand that Phil Gould
also has done some photography in the recent past...some album covers
too....

Can anyone enlighten me....I'd love to see some of his work.

>Have we hit rock bottom?> no, but it seems we are getting close....

have a great day out there!

P.S. God rest Mr. Robert Palmer....a beautiful guy with a beautiful voice
who had beautiful style!!!
