I think these are my thoughts about the song ALL SHE WANTS.......

1. Good song - great intro...
2. Why didn't it make the final cut for the Guaranteed album ?
3. It should have taken THE APE's place on the album
4. At least I have the Japanese version, where it makes a welcome
appearance.
5. Great played loud !
6. ditto with AS YEARS GO BY......

anyone else.?

Dean

Looks like I spoke too soon.

Many sellers on eBay pray on keen collectors, and the Changing the Guard cd
single sure looks like an easy way to make some money.

3 - lyrical playing around

I don't think I've seen this thread, so I think I'll ask around anyway....

How many Level 42 tracks in their final state are total lyrical re-writes of earlier demo versions ?

I know it seems strange thing to ask, because all songs are a gradual evolution to its final form (and then go further on in remix form !)

To give some examples :

Coup D'etat - lyrics went from a feisty mother with murderous prodigy to a tale about a meglomaniac woman

Mother Nature says - change of meaning of the whole track from the 'trapped by your family - come be with me' stance to the 'love dilemma' cut in ' To be with you again'

All Over You - from the 'look at you, you're beautiful and unobtainable' to the  'this is how you make me feel' final version

Of course, there are others such as Running in the Family.... but are there anymore ?
