Howdy Folks,

Can I ask if anyone posts messages with setlist details to warn us all. I'd rather not know the setlist until I go the gigs.

Cheers,

Laurence,

I have Standing in the Light on vinyl, A&M SP-4995.

The cover has them by the railing of a balcony in an atrium.

Is this rare?

According to what I've read in response to my questions about the first
album, the single disc release with the extended versions of 'Turn It
On', 'Love Games', and 'Star Child' is still readily available (at least
in the UK). However should any Digesters find themselves in need of said
album on CD and the only version they can find is the two disc set with
THE EARLY TAPES, give me a shout. A local shop has one in the used bin
for a fairly inexpensive $7.

Later,

Chris L.

Moving along, let's turn our attention (and my curiosity) to FOREVER NOW.

First off- to make sure I've got this straight:

The album was released in two different versions- 1994 on RCA
(74321189962) with 11 tracks, 1995 on Resurgence (LV102CD) with 15
tracks. Each version has two tracks that are exclusive to that pressing
(RCA with 'Tired of Waiting' and 'All Over You', Resurgence with 'Time
Will Heal and 'Learn To Say No'), plus the Resurgence version contains
another four tracks- that were not on the RCA version- that also appeared
as bonus/previously unreleased tracks on the CD singles for 'Forever Now'
('Play Me', 'Past Lives') and 'Love In A Peaceful World' ('The Bends',
'Heart On The Line').

Now, presuming I've got it straight so far:

1) Why was the album reissued as soon as a year later on a different
label, with different material? Was the Resurgence version just for the
U.S. market since RCA didn't releases the album over here?

2) Why do I see this version referred to as the Resurgence/Griffin
version? The copy I have has a bar code sticker on the back that says
'Distributed by Griffin Music' and in smaller print 'Made In Austria'.
Come to think of it, I bought this version at a music convention where
Griffin Music had a table. They were blowing their stock out as I recall
(3 CDs for 20 bucks or something like that).

3) Why does the CD single for 'Forever Now' refer to 'Romance' as an
"exclusive bonus track"? To me that would indicate it wasn't available
anywhere else.

4) Since the Part B version of the 'Forever Now' CD single has three
different mixes of 'All Over You', was that song intended to be released
as a single at some point?

5) Am I the only one who thinks the aforementioned remixes of 'All Over
You' are total and complete CRAP?

6) Were there any other singles released off the album aside from the
title track and 'Love In A Peaceful World'?

7) Resurgence version: I know where 'Play Me', 'Past Lives', 'The Bends',
and 'Heart On The Line' came from. What about 'Time Will Heal and 'Learn
To Say No'?

8) Someone told me once that the Japanese version of FOREVER NOW
contained a bonus track that wasn't on the regular pressing. He, however,
neglected to mention which version he was referring to. So is there
another song that isn't on either of the two versions mentioned at the
beginning of this post?

9) I'm presuming the RCA version I have is the UK pressing?

10) Any more talk about a remastered rerelease of this album containing
ALL the tracks from those sessions? Ditto for GUARANTEED since we're on
the subject.

Who would've thought I could come up with so many questions about an
album who merits get debated so often? And you'll notice- in the hopes of
not starting yet another battle- that I'm NOT throwing my opinion in.

Later,

Chris L.
