Greetings y'all,

Just a quick word to say that the free CD offer of my
original music has gone well, thems that emailed me
have all been replied to, except for Alex Friesen,
replying to your email gets a bounce but the CD is en
route.

And, not so well, because I announced "free Cd" up to
"42" and exactly 13 people braved the void and took me
up on it . . . which is great, but . . .

I re-read my announcement from Friday and apparently I
may have self-deprecated my effort a tad too much,
with statements like "my singing sounds like 25˘ beer
night at the karaoke palace/bowling alley"

so I would like to officially recant and upgrade: "my
singing sounds like 75˘ beer night at the karaoke
palace/bowling alley!"

anyway, if there are more interested parties, please
chime in, email me from the "CONTACT" link at the
website "http://www.emeraldsoul.com" (do not respond
to this "grooveyard" address)

please act now before someone charges you $75 on ebay
(which would be fine with me!)

take care and enjoy whatever music you are groovin'
on.

-Tom

Good one.  Someone also recently asked me for my "top 5 singles", so here they are,
as of this split-second in time...

+ While You See A Chance (Steve Winwood)
+ Positivity (Incognito)
+ True Believers (Level 42)
+ Josie (Steely Dan)
+ Slave To The Rhythm (Grace Jones)

BTW (totally unrelated), I just heard the 2001 single "Sleeping" from Rick Astley...  good stuff. :)

cheers,
Eric

Hmmmm, seems that Mike(y) is a tad peeved, I agree
with him that comments on prices _he_ chose for item
_he_ wants to sell is pretty uncouth, although I am a
little surprised at the rest of the rant.
Mike, you are one of the few people on here (so it
seems) that gives things a bit more thinking than the
"if MK did it, it is gold" mentality; so I'm a bit
sir-prised at this feel of disharmony that you have.
You and I have had a few pretty good back and forths.

Maybe I just don't feel the need for some "community"
type feeling. Nor, especially a need for an air of
"positive" when very little of "positive" merit is
going on. I am much more interesting in a discussion,
more so than a "isn't Winston a swell guy (for a Mets
fan)" aura.

While my posts may have an edge, they are obviously
peppered with humour. And I always try to have a
pretty solid foundation to base my theory. You
(collective you, not Mike you) don't agree with my
statements about the Beatles, negate them, but crying
that "jay said the beatles suck" is a) inaccurate and
b) really not adding discourse.
So, that's why I get alittle harsh with some, who take
things out of context, bitch about lack of content
(while offering none) and think that the ground MK
walks on is paved with musical gold.

Unfortunately few people 'step up to the plate' and
reply back via the digest, all the interesting mails
happen on the sides (private email), so I have no
problem stepping back and taking a walk; then you can
go on and have this little land of make believe some
of you seem to miss. Maybe I can write a _Chicken Soup
for (True) Level 42 Fans_ and you can all have
feel-good sessions. This book, needless to say, I will
sell on eBay for a vastly inflated price, but it will
include AG’s signature and a lipstick pressing from
Friesen.

I'm not here to piss anyone off, and E. Hanson never
complained (he actually sends me weekly Yahoo!
Greeting Valentine's cards every week, year round).
And I know one or 2 of our regular posters is quite
busy, lest you think little jay "scared him off".

So, I don’t know...conversation is indeed waning,
intelligence dwindling and discourse lifeless.
“Let be”, as Hamlet sayeth…
I guess,
j
