Howdy Folks,
In response to Eric's comment, there was a version
produced in the US which has a glitter like effect of the moon on the CD. I
recently missed out of a copy on ebay. Does anybody know where I can get hold of
a copy ?
Thanks,

J, you may be correct about crowds
accepting off centered versions of songs, and I share your desire as
well. Consider all the unplugged albums. I think, the record
buying, NSYNC masses get disappointed with this, though. It reminds me of
these 14 year old girls, who when at the end of Eyes Wide Shut at the
theatre said that was the worse movie they had ever seen. They
obviously went to see Cruise and Kidman and not to see the latest Kubrick
offering.
Tom, I do acknowledge Time Out's place in jazz
history. And I do like most of the tracks. I meant to convey that to
me, Brubeck is not the same "cool" jazz" that some of the others I mentioned
are. The more palatable sound is why there was commercial success, not its ground breaking signature changes. I'd be interested to learn that
other jazz artists followed this lead. Miles pretty much covers all the
styles and eras and to me he is a legend, compared to a great, as Brubeck
is.
Andrew, our son won't be coming home on his
birthday. I stated you should not judge a player's ability on the
merit of studio material alone, to which you
agreed. That does not mean you cannot recognize great playing
when it's there. I think the earlier 42 material, in particular, indicates
the musicianship is top notch. Granted, I can't comment on their
improvisational ability over the years of gigs. Enough of the
surreal.
All people have moments of stupidity. Some people
have more that others, and some, I suppose, live in a constant
state. Really, though, most people are much more intelligent that you
give them credit for. It is not simply a matter of academics, or
culturalization. What about adaptation and manipulation, (in a very broad
sense)? Also, now that we are in our golden years, the maturity of the 20's
crowd always seems to slap us in the face.

| >1. Rebirth of cool >From: Norman van den Wildenberg < >express @ hetnet.nl> > >is this the US or European series of Rebirth of cool, as there are two >series. Yes, just to make an obscure CD that bit harder to find, there is a US Rebirth Of Cool Vol 2 which is not it, this is Rebirth Of Cool Too (note spelling). Like I said though, if anyone knows anywhere else to find Black Whip by Chapter & The Verse on CD, please speak up. The other one is apparently even more obscure, and I'm starting to wonder if I imagined seeing it. Motown lady Jennifer, are you able to confirm whether there was a Motown compilation in about 1993 called Atlantic Highways Volume 2 which featured The Crown by Gary Byrd? >5. 6/8 >From: Eric J. Excellent... not long now until it's my long-cherished menage a trois with just me, Friesen and Anthony Kay. Mmmm.
