Mark didn't play bass on Do they know it's christmas. I've got the 12" right in my hands and believe me his name isn't on it. He did play bass on Ferry aid for the Zeebrugge dissaster. I got the 7" right here and his photo is on it.

all this time I thought it was "animal food trough
WATER" !

and, how can you simultaneously "not live in reality"
and feel so much "pain?" Pain is for the reality crowd
- if you have pain in your delusional world, then, to
quote a really obese occupational hypno-therapist,
"Whoa - that's really messed up."

>Phil and Boon were brothers.

Did they stop being brothers? That's kinda cool...

> The four made a music video, and got to play
> Tranquility, Malice, Rage, and Everyman,
> respectively.

This sounds far more interesting than an video Level42
actually made.

I, for one, think this is a brilliant idea and was
pleased to see that it was grouped this way. There are
many annoying things on the net, one of which is
filtering through the nonsense...

As for the VCD disc, it may take a few days for
someone to reply to you (did you specify where
(geography) you are? IF you dont hear back fromthem,
privately email me.

I'm a bit new to this. Been a subscriber for a while, but feel I have little to contribute. I've never spoken to any of the band members, don't meet them for a beer, not involved in recording Band Aid records - and only noticed that some of the noise at recent concerts was coming from a big box with lights on at the back of the stage until you lot informed me ! I'm a great fan though.

What I thought I may derive from evesdropping, was a heads up on forthcoming tours etc so I could get in there early. Imagine my excitement when I read reference to other bands I hold in high esteem, such as Incognito. And what about all those Steely Dan influences in the choice of E-Mail handles - Bingo (I thought) .. I may get to see all my favourite artists close up when all these 'insiders' tell me what's going on.

So, whatever your name is who was supposed to be having a beer with Bluey two weekends ago, what the hell happened. Do they have a live performance or what ? When, where, tickets, fancy getting me a signed photo, meet you there for a beer (I'll wear my level 42 tee shirt) ..

I thought it would be interesting to open a debate/thread on this to find out peoples' fave Level 42 album.  They released alot of albums in a 15 year period and I think it would be interesting to see the results and opinions.

Personally my fave is 'Level 42'  You just cannot beat the sound of 'Love Games' and 'Starchild' when they first came out.  Brit Jazz/Funk was just exploding on the scene and Level 42 led the way.  As a 16 yr old at the time it just blew me away.

Hope this e mail finds you all well.

Regards Danny

You were doing superbly until you reached the word grammar. Consider
yourself soundly beaten with my huge rademaker.

I should perhaps point out that my grievances with the abuse of English are
restricted purely to those who consider it their first language. It is a
source of some shame to me that we gave the language to the world and, due
to a generation of smug educational complacency, most people my age don't
know the basics of grammatical construction.

Your conviction over something about which you are incorrect is certainly
entertaining. I remember an interview (somebody will have it scanned
somewhere no doubt) in which Mark King admitted it was somewhat humiliating
to have not been asked to contribute to Band Aid or Live Aid in any
capacity. However, you are clearly set in your belief so good luck to you.
Mark King was also the fifth Beatle, by the way.
