| Hi
Just a few words regarding this on going theme about new material. What i would like to know is what people are expecting to hear, especially as the last 'new' stuff was One Man. (I know trash was released later but it was full of 'cliche' tracks imho). It all comes down to who is going to be releasing the material (if any). Has Mark got a record deal on the table, or is he doing the home production/distribution route ? I'd prefer another mature 'One man' type production. It must be my age, but I think I've had my fill of teenage angst songs and insipid ballards. I can't see a 'mainstream' type album being produced again. The stuff that the fans were raving about in this last years tour was fine in 1987, but a similar output to mainstream in 2003 or 2004 - I very much doubt it would work. Likewise, I think that the new L42 would become a speciality act, it having its own niche, and therefore a specific market and specific band of followers. Anyway, enough of my rantings.... bring back 'One Man 2' and songs that have more depth and relevance to old farts like me ! :o) Eric W

| forgot to mention, but i've heard all the usual suspects in MUZAK ...SAY, LIL, RITF, Children Say, etc.. But i called Carl Mueller at work one day, and while waiting i hear LIAPW, and it shocked the hell out of me. When Carl piccked up the phone i shouted at him to 'PUT ME BACK ON HOLD'!! The version was very well done, and would love to get a copy of it. Sounded like a smooth jazz cover version, with a guitar melody line. That interview at the bassinside site is full of errors.. the band never did a North American tour, and Mark doesnt live in Wales, etc, etc, etc. Win http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mc.asp?alias=winman42&type=O&sc=C&ls=T | ||

You can also thank Winston and Carl for contributing the pictures in the first place... there are about 45 that rotate at random. If you've got others that look good at the 53x53 size, feel free to email them to me and I'll put them up. cheers, Eric

Folks,
as you can all see,
I'm working on some "Level 42 Digest Marketplace" ideas for
content
that will
regularly appear at the bottom of the Digest (whether daily,
semi-weekly or
weekly is TBD). You all should have seen the Amazon.com
messages in Sunday's
Digest, as
well as a
bunch of
blank "eBay" related messages.
I apologize for
these blank eBay messages, which were accidently left in during
development and
testing on Saturday. The plan for the eBay listings is
to
show
selected listings,
such as
highest price (i.e., rarest) items), as part of the
periodic
Marketplace
content.
FYI, my vision here
is to deliver the most relevant one-stop Level 42 content
to your inbox
daily. On top of subscriber postings, the inclusion of
the
Marketplace is
intended to alleviate the need for routinely searching/scanning
these other sites
(i.e., Amazon and eBay) for CD's, videos and collectables.
If you
see
something in the Digest Marketplace that interests you, you can
go
check
it
out and not
have to worry about "missing anything" if you don't have
time to surf those
sites on a regular basis.
And as a side
benefit,
sales through Amazon.com (although not eBay)
generate a trickle
of commissions that supports the Digest's ISP and
hosting
expenses.
Anyways, the eBay content should be available as of the time of this mailing...
I'm always looking
for suggestions and feedback for improvements and changes,
so let me
know!
cheers,
Eric

| I remember some years back when I worked in a store in a mall, I heard a great version of "Leaving Me Now". Never got around to asking at the main office who it was or if I could copy it. Not a Muzak fan but this was really nice. Royal __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.yahoo.com | ||

| I promise this will be my one and only post to the Digest about this. I'm hosting a Southern California Levelfest, February 8th 2003. There will be friends, food and funk a-plenty. We'll be doing some jamming as well. There is a thread about it on the Level 42 Web Digest, here: http://www.level42webdigest.com/cgi-bin/ YaBB.cgi?board=ILF;action=display;num=1036454765 If you'd like to show up we'd love to have you. All the details are on my site, here: http://www.xaqtly.com/levelfest Thanks for your time, hope to see some of you here. :) -Zak | ||

| Good aftermorning ... ... I missed out on all this 'Ask Mark' caper but I've always wanted to ask him, "Why didn't Level 42 play at Live Aid?" Answer on a postcard please, and no bollocks.
